MTV: Chris Brown Sentenced To Five Years Probation
Judge also kept in place a protective order to keep Brown away from ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Chris Brown was formally sentenced in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday (August 25) stemming from his February altercation with then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The terms of the plea deal the singer agreed to last month in the case are largely the same, including 180 days of community labor work, a year of domestic-abuse counseling and five years’ probation. The judge, however, did not lift the protective order issued against Brown, warning him that he must stay away from Rihanna for five years, until August 25, 2014, when his probation period is over.
Judge Patricia Schnegg then told Brown she is not one to believe hearsay, but she informed the singer she was “not immune from the chatter that has been on the airwaves” about meetings between the couple. When asked if he understood the protective order and the conditions — which require the singer to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna or 10 yards away from her during music-industry events they both attend — Brown quietly told the judge “yes.”
Brown arrived to the proceedings 10 minutes early and sat next to his attorney, Mark Geragos, without saying much. He wore a dark, pinstripe suit and appeared stern throughout. At one point, he answered the judge prematurely, earning a playful rebuke from Schnegg and he flashed a brief smile.
The proceedings were swift as Schnegg confirmed the previously agreed to conditions, including that Brown complete his labor service and counseling in his home state of Virginia. Schnegg also said that Brown would be supervised directly by the Richmond police chief.
Brown was due to be sentenced earlier this month, but Schnegg said the court needed more time to verify Virginia’s labor-service intensity. Judge Schnegg told Brown she wanted him to do manual labor for his commitment — including graffiti removal, trash pickup and washing vehicles — rather than community service.
The singer will be required to report to a probation officer in Los Angeles and return to California every three months to see Schnegg. Brown is scheduled to appear back in court November 19 to update the judge on his status, which will include proof of his enrollment in a domestic-abuse program by the Commonwealth Catholic Charities. Brown is due to report to probation in 72 hours following Tuesday’s hearing.
In addition to the terms of his plea deal and the protective order, Brown must also pay a number of fees and fines, while also being subject to random searches and seizures.
Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, was also present at the hearing. Rihanna did not press charges against Brown, but her lawyer had attended other court dates since the incident. Etra declined to speak on the nature of his client’s relationship with Brown and would not comment regarding the sentence.
He did say Rihanna was told at the last hearing, which she attended, the conditions of Brown’s plea deal and did not object to the punishment. At the last hearing, Etra stated that Rihanna did not wish to impose the protective order, but the judge said she would keep it. Rihanna may move to modify the terms, Etra explained, but it’s under the court to decide to change it or not.
“There were no surprises in court this afternoon. The court imposed the sentence,” Etra told reporters outside the courthouse. “Rihanna was advised of the plea agreement before it was entered by Mr. Brown. She did not object at that time. The stay-away order was imposed by the court.”

RUMOR: Chris Brown & Amber Rose Hook Up
I call BS, but hey - you never know…
Singer Chris Brown may have scared off some women by beating up his ex, Rihanna, but Kanye West’s on-and-off girlfriend, Amber Rose, apparently isn’t one of them.
Brown and Rose locked lips at the July 4 White Party thrown by Sean (Diddy) Combs and Ashton Kutcher in Beverly Hills, spies tell the Daily News.
Brown, 20, arrived at the party with singer Teyana Taylor, an 18-year-old Rihanna look-alike, but is said to have hooked up quickly with Rose.
“Diddy announced the deejay would do a tribute to Michael Jackson,” said a guest. “Chris did an amazing impression of Michael’s moonwalk. It wasn’t long before he was dancing with Amber.”
Later, as the party wound down, the pair nestled on a couch in the backyard of the Beverly Hills mansion.
“They were holding hands and making out in the shadows,” said a witness. “She had her hand on his leg.”
Taylor is said to have been irked by the amount of time Brown spent with Rose, but still accompanied him to an after-party at the club Guys.
There, Brown again got upclose and personal with Rose, who is 26.
“They were kissing on the dance floor in front of Teyana,” said a witness. “But he and Amber left separately.”
Some wondered whether the flagrant display was a defiant message both to Rihanna and West. Rihanna dumped Brown, who last month pleaded guilty to assaulting the Grammy winner.
West, who has said he was “devastated” by Brown’s attack on a woman who was like “my little sister,” has run hot and cold on Rose lately. Although he reportedly broke up with her last month, they came together at last week’s BET Awards show.
A rep for Brown had no comment. Reps for Rose and West couldn’t be reached.

The “Real” Reason Chris Brown didn’t perform at the BET Awards?
While Chris Brown’s dancer, B Shaw, claims that Jay-Z was the reason Chris was unable to perform last night, our partner GossipOnThis.com claims to have exclusive insider information that paints a very different picture:
“Chris Brown was supposed to open the show but BET executives were not agreeing to let Chris go on stage after they had already established that he was performing,” a source revealed to Gossip On This. “A lot of reports were saying that he was using this as a way to rebuild his image. So at the last minute, he was pulled. … After 3 days of rehearsal, they pulled Chris Brown from the show…”

Either way, BET was foolish for not allowing Chris Brown to perform. According to multiple reports, the Jackson family wanted Chris Brown to perform a tribute to Michael. After all, no one would have done it better. The 2009 BET Awards were truly a mess. Hopefully the 2010 brings something way better.

Chris Brown is secretly knee-deep in a campaign to resurrect his image and his target is a certain group of 12 people who will judge his fate. And guess what — it’s working.
We’ve been talking to people in Brown’s world and here’s what we know. Brown — who hired Sitrick and Company, the crisis management firm for which he more than qualifies as a client — has been calculating every public move he’s made over the last 6 weeks. From the NBA final game last Sunday … to the “I’m-not-a-monster” video…. to the antics with Omarion — Sitrick and others have tried to make the images of Rihanna’s bruised and battered face disappear — or at least recede into the background.
One source says Brown has been told going out clubbing could kill his chances with a jury — it’s just too flip. For the most part, he’s obeyed them, although they weren’t happy when Brown hit a club with the Kardashian sisters and Bow Wow.
Ironically, Rihanna has actually helped Brown by resurrecting her glamorous self and getting on with her life.
Short story: We’re told the Sitrick and Company game plan is the opposite of what many lawyers would urge — going underground until the trial. They want Brown out and about, resuming life within limits.
Rihanna takes the stand next Monday to kick off Brown’s preliminary hearing. Should be interesting.

Teyana Taylor to TMZ: Chris Brown is “like a brother”
The Rihanna clone spotted with Chris Brown at the Lakers/Magic game on Sunday wants to make one thing clear — she wasn’t part of a Chris Brown PR conspiracy.
We spoke with Teyana Taylor — a singer on Pharrell’s label — who says she went to the game with Chris because they’ve been friends for a long time and he is “like a brother.” Taylor said if people think Chris used her for a PR stunt it’s “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”
As for looking a lot like Rihanna, Taylor said, “I’ve always dressed like that. I’ve always had style … I’ve had that Mohawk now for months.”
Taylor told us she doesn’t take sides when it comes to the alleged Chris Brown beatdown — but she supports C.B. “no matter what.”

If you’re a true Chris fan, you already know who Teyana is. Chris Brown has been hanging out with her for the past few weeks and the two were most recently spotted at the NBA Finals seated next to Mijo and Teyana.

Troubled R&B star Chris Brown stunned basketball fans last night when he turned up with a Rihanna lookalike.
Just three days after Chris and his ex were spotted sitting far apart at a basketball game last week, he attended the NBA finals in Florida with a dead ringer for the famous singer.
At first glance, many fans could have been forgiven for thinking Rihanna, 21, had reconciled with Chris, 20, following her alleged assault by him four months ago.
Despite the similar dress sense and hairstyle, the woman in question was actually upcoming singer/rapper Teyana Taylor, 18.
Chris, his brother Quincy Brown and Teyana had prime seats in the front row courtside as the LA Lakers took on Orlando Magic in Orlando.
They cheered as the Lakers ended up beating Orlando 98-86 and clinching this year’s NBA championship title.
The relationship between Teyana and Chris is not known, but the pair could be working together as both are currently recording albums.
Teyana found fame as a spoilt teenager on MTV documentary My Super Sweet 16 and choreographed the video to Beyonce Knowles’s 2006 single Ring The Alarm when she was just 15.
Rihanna was spotted attending several LA Lakers games last week, but surprisingly opted out of the basketball team’s biggest game on Sunday.
Perhaps her ex-boyfriend’s attendance at the last match may have prompted her decision to sit out the final.
Chris and Rihanna were originally reported to have requested to ’sit together’ at Thursday’s game, but were spotted sitting in completely separate sections.

First off let me start off by saying that this was on MediaTakeOut first, so take this with more than just a pinch of salt. You might wanna to just gargle it with salt water and spit it out, if you know what I mean.

Just when we thought we’d get a break from the Chris Brown and Rihanna saga: a woman named Yami, who claims she’s Chris’s ex, added her two cents and she’s saying that RiRi knocked him the heck out.
She defended the singer via video blog yesterday:
“See nobody’s showing the picture of Chris’ face [after the incident]. Nobody’s showing his face picture – [Rihanna] f–ked him up. Scraped down the side of his face, busted up nose, face bleeding. Nobody is saying how she f–ked him up.
They’re only trying to make Chris look bad and I do not like that because she’s trying to be the victim … and she’s been f–cking [Chris] up for a minute. She stay fighting him - like all the time.
Her mouth is reckless. She be embarrassing him in front of people … And I hate the fact that her and her friends and her publicist tried to go out there and make [Chris] look like just whooped her a– for no reason.
Chris is not the type of [man] to beat a b–ch a–. I know the n–ga … He’s got an anger problem, but it’s never to beat nobody’s a– like that.”
Then, continuing on about the man who’s supposedly not the type to beat anyone she said:

Come on now! We all saw the TMZ photos of Rihanna battered and bruised, but in all the pictures I saw of Chris after Grammy night, he didn’t have nary a scratch! Even if we want to go out on a limb and believe this “ex’s” story that Rihanna allegedly Mike Tysoned Chris, does that justify him putting his hands on her?
On another note, it seems like Rihanna isn’t the only one that’s been “Paranoid” lately. The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Chris has been getting some death threats tied to the incident that have prompted him to become obsessed with his security.
This whole scandal has more ridiculous chapters than R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet.” I can’t take it! Aren’t you ready to skip to the June 22nd trial date so we can get to the bottom of things?

Rumor: Rihanna & Trina To Gang Up on Chris Brown on new Track?
When I first started to post this, I was going to use very unflattering photos of both Rihanna and Trina, but for what? It’s bad enough that I’m entertaining this f*ckery by posting it — but you know how that goes.
Rihanna is hard at work in the studio on her new album. And one of the songs may be about her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
According to a new report, Rihanna has teamed up with singer Trina for a diss song all about Chris.
According to Star magazine, Rihanna feels this is the way to really get back at Chris.
A source tells the magazine, “She’s writing a song with rapper Trina dissing Chris.”
“Rihanna’s planning to put it on the album to really stick it to him…She even changed her ringer on her cell to another Trina song called ‘Wish I Never Met You.’”
We’ve heard this rumor before, so it’s hard to believe this is really true. Last time we heard this rumor, Rihanna and Lady Gaga denied teaming up for the leaked song called “Silly Boy.”
We do think it’s the ultimate revenge, however. All artists write songs about their personal experiences, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for Rihanna to do the same. What do you think? Should Rihanna write a Chris Brown diss track?

Rumor: Rihanna Threatens to Leak Chris Brown Nude Pictures
After nude pics of R&B superstar Rihanna hit the Net with a venegence earlier this month, her “allegedly” abusive ex, crooner Chris Brown, denied any involvement in the leak. But Ri-Ri ain’t buying it — and the “Umbrella” hitmaker is threatening to release several saucy snaps of Chris in retaliation.
She even threatened to go “Left Eye” on his ass: “She was saying crazy things like, ‘I’m going to burn down his house,’” a friend of the 21-year-old tells the June 7 issue of Star of Rihanna’s reaction to finding nude images of herself plastered all over the Internet.
According to pals, once she calmed down, the singer began plotting her revenge against the man accused of beating her senseless.
“She says she’s going to release her own photos of Chris. She has less-than-flattering nude pics of him that she plans on leaking. Rihanna says he’ll be really embarrassed,” whispers one in-house informant.
The diva is also planning to plant several humiliating stories about Chris’ sexual performance — or lack thereof — in a bid to leave her 20-year-old former flame shamefaced. Rihanna is already chuckling to friends that Chris was a clumsy novice at lovemaking until “she taught him everything he knows.”
“She’s going to ruin his sexy image.”
This week, it was revealed that Rihanna will testify against Chris Brown in a preliminary hearing last month stemming from felony charges that he assaulted her during a fight in Los Angeles last February.

Rihanna Slams Chris Brown in New Song!
Another day, another Rihanna and Chris Brown update. This time, with audio accompaniment!
Rihanna and the unstoppable Lady GaGa — I’m convinced there are five of her running around — are teaming up on Chris Brown. And guess who’s getting the word out … Kanye West.
Kanye posted a new collaboration track by RiRi and GaGa (hehe, funny) called “Silly Boy” on his blog last night and boy are the lyrics awfully revealing. I’m not sure if this song is a direct jab at the accused gal beater Chris Brown or just a downright coincidence … wait, I’m pretty sure it’s a jab.
A key verse on the track is “’cause you had a good girl, good girl, girl /That’s a keeper /You had a good girl, good girl /but didn’t know how to treat her.” Yep, sounds like she is talking to Mr. Brown. “Game’s over, you lose,” she says. Look who finally found her pair of smarty pants and got a clue.
My favorite part of this little nugget of info isn’t the actual song, but the fact that Kanye posted it, and for free to download. It looks like he wants us all to have a hot summer track -

Rihanna Fights Alleged Nude Pics
Rihanna’s camp is firing off the first response to nude pictures, allegedly of Rihanna, that hit the internet today.
TMZ has learned the legal department at Island Def Jam Music Group, RiRi’s label, sent a letter to at least one website that published the photos. The letter refers to “unauthorized photos purported to be…Rihanna,” demands that the photos be removed from the site, and calls the photos a violation of “the Artist’s rights.”
It’s not clear whether Rihanna really is the woman in the buff because you can’t see her face in the nude shots. She is clearly pictured in two fully clothed pics.
Interestingly, the letter from Island Def Jam does not deny (or confirm) if it’s really Rihanna.

Rihanna: The Naked Truth?
The Rihanna and Chris Brown saga continues. While Rihanna made a glamorous return to the red carpet this week, nude images of a woman bearing a likeness to the Barbadian beauty have surfaced on PerezHilton.com. The celebrity gossip blogger claims “Chris Brown must be responsible for this!”
A spokesperson for Brown has released a statement to ESSENCE.com denouncing any connection to the photos. “This is both a false and defamatory statement. Chris has not released or ‘leaked’ any photos of Rihanna (or anyone else for that matter).”
Brown was expected to appear in court on April 29, but was not required to attend the hearing. According to TMZ.com, Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos filed two motions requesting for internal police records on the leaked photo of Rihanna’s bruised and battered face. Brown’s next court hearing is May 28.

BEENIE MAN CALLS CHRIS BROWN AN “IDIOT” IN FRONT OF CROWD & RIHANNA
Just got some interesting news. Website Islandista is reportng that at a concert in Barbados this past weekend reggae susperstar Beenie Man performed for an audience which included Rihanna.
MediaTakeOut.com claims that during Beenie’s performance, he called out Chris Brown – in front of nearly 10,000 fans. Here’s how Islandista is reporting it:
Beenie touched the stage at about 7:30 and gave a generally decent performance - certainly the crowd was with him.
Then … he start calling for Rihanna to “report back stage immediately”.
And then he start talking up a set of things about the infamous beating incident between her and Chris Brown, asking the crowd if they [thought] it was “an idiot thing that Chris did” while singing a very off-key version of the hook to ‘Umbrella’. You could hear a collective ‘ooooohhhh!’ as the crowd sucked in its breath when he said it.
For most that would be enough, but not for Beenie. He continued on his rampage:
Beenie kept calling for [Rihanna] and singing ‘Umbrella’ and lo and behold, she actually came up on the stage. Then he start singing his version of Umbrella , part of which went “I don’t have no fancy car/But [I’ll] never give you no scar”.
Trust me. I was shame for de girl. Everyone was shame because the crowd didn’t really hype up and carry on the way they had been earlier when he was just performing all his hits. I just wanted it to end.
This sounds painful … but it doesn’t end there:
But Beenie wasn’t done. He told her that Chris [will] get vexed when he sees the pictures of him (Beenie) and Rihanna hugging up on stage because he is the ‘girls dem suga’ and anything the sugar touches get sticky.

Rumor: Chris Brown and Rihanna Reunite in Recording Studio
A source is saying that Rihanna and Chris got back together on Tuesday to work on a studio project.
However, the reunion didn’t last long because Chris, who allegedly beat Rihanna in February, packed up his stuff and flew out to his home in Virginia the next day. On that same day, Rihanna is said to have visited a psychic who goes by the name, Madam Ziyon.
There goes also rumors about that Chris spent the night with RiRi on a hotel in L.A and checked out early next morning while she was house hunting.

Chris Brown Reportedly Dating Hometown Ex Erica Jackson
I know this is three days old, but news is severely slow - so we’re kinda on a “take what we can get” sorta status.
Chris Brown is reportedly back together with an ex-girlfriend — but it’s not Rihanna, who the 19-year-old singer has been charged with attacking in an alleged February 8 early-morning altercation that resulted in Brown pleading not guilty last week to felony counts of assault and making criminal threats.
According to New York’s Daily News, Brown is back together with an ex-girlfriend from his home state of Virginia, Erica Jackson. The tabloid reported that the University of Mary Washington student recently started dating Brown again. “[Chris and Erica] met in Virginia, where he’s from,” an unidentified source close to the singer reportedly told the paper. “They dated back in the day and reconnected a few weeks ago when Chris was in town. They’ve been spending a lot of time together, but things only really heated up over the last two weeks.”
Brown was recently photographed shooting hoops at Mary Washington and posing with the women’s basketball team on a visit that coincided with the school’s “White Ribbon Campaign” devoted to raising awareness about violence toward women.
Following an alleged brief reconciliation at a home owned by Diddy in Miami shortly after the alleged assault, Brown and Rihanna have not been spotted together in public for several weeks. The unnamed source told the Daily News that while Jackson is “no Rihanna,” the general feeling among Brown’s friends and family is that she is going to be good for him. “[Erica] has a good head on her shoulders; she’s solid,” the source reportedly said. “… At the very least, she’s helping to ease Chris’ pain over Rihanna. He was mad in love with that girl.”
Brown and Jackson were reported to have been seen leaving a Sunset Boulevard tattoo parlor on Saturday afternoon. While a spokesperson for Brown did not return requests for comment at press time, an unnamed representative for the singer told the paper, “He did go to a tattoo parlor with someone from the studio named Dean. There was a woman there who was a friend of Dean. There is no truth to this at all. Chris does not know the woman nor does he know the name of the woman.” A Chris Brown fan site has posted the alleged photos of Brown and Jackson.
Adding to the confusion, some sites have identified the woman spotted with Brown at the parlor not as Jackson, but former Girlicious member Natalie Mejia.
Another unnamed source, this one reportedly close to Rihanna, told the Daily News, “She is going to be pissed! … Ri is going to be so hurt that Chris has moved on so quickly and is parading this new girl around town.” Rihanna’s lawyer has said that his client plans to cooperate with prosecutors on the Brown case by testifying if subpoenaed to do so. Brown is due in court again on April 29.
Rumor: Chris Brown to Apologize on Oprah
We all have been wondering when and how Chris Brown and Rihanna will publicly address their battery case. The two have been reunited that is for sure but now we are all waiting on some kind of excuse or apology or something! Well it is coming out now that we may be getting some words from one of the two troubled stars as Chris may be making a high profile appearance on one of TV’s most respected talk shows. Although their story may be more fit more for Jerry Springer if rumors prove to be true it will be going down on none other than hip hop’s #1 hater herself, Oprah Winfrey!
Rihanna herself was rumored to be appearing on the Oprah show in February after the story and beating first broke. However she declined the offer but apparently did not keep it out of her mind completely. Word is that Rihanna is the one demanding that Chris go on Oprah and apologize to her in front on millions of people worldwide. Sources near the situation have this to say.
“Rihanna has been talking to Oprah Winfrey on a regular basis since late February when Oprah begged her not to take Chris back. She’s been having second thoughts about them being back together.”
The source says that Rihanna feels if Chris would do this it would be a true show of sincerity in his apology and their making up.
“Agreeing to go on Oprah’s show and tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind.”
So far it is not yet confirmed if Chris is willing to go appear on the Oprah show but the bottom line is he has to do it somewhere and the Oprah show is just as good a forum as any. I wonder how hard Oprah would go on him? Do you think Chris should go on TV and apologize or just keep it all in the family and handle this privately?

Rumor: Rihanna Not Cooperating With Prosecuters
The word over the weekend from Los Angeles is that star singer Rihanna is not cooperating with prosecutors in the Chris Brown case.
Sources say Rihanna “wants the whole thing” to go away and isn’t helping the district attorney prepare his case against Brown for allegedly beating her to a pulp in the early hours of February 8th, the day the of the Grammy Awards.
Apparently Rihanna is angry, they say, that pictures of her bruises were leaked to the press. She’s not happy, too, that she was quickly identified as Brown’s victim.
Rihanna’s loyalty to Brown, I predict, will backfire. For one thing, even without her testimony, prosecutors already have evidence and a statement.
But even more damaging to Rihanna, ironically, will be the image of her as a battered woman defending her alleged batterer. This isn’t 1967. In a post-Tina Turner confessional world, too much is known about this sort of thing. Rihanna is a role model for young women.
But for her to endorse — either implicitly or explicitly — what went on that night could result in her going from victim to enabler. And while victim earns the public’s sympathy, enabler doesn’t. Future commercial sponsors may not see Rihanna’s as an image they want to send to young consumers if she’s viewed as interfering with Brown’s criminal prosecution.
Right now a hearing is set for one week from today. At that time, Brown will likely be arraigned, charges will be filed. Whether Rihanna supports those charges and will help prosecutors at trial remains to be seen.

The leaked police photo of Rihanna’s battered face stunned and horrified the world. But now Star has learned that the pop princess worries that other shocking images could go public — wild sex tapes of her with abusive boyfriend Chris Brown!
In the March 30 issue of Star — on sale now — we report that Rihanna allowed Chris to record some of their, um, intimate moments and — she worries that the racy tapes could ruin her — especially after seeing how quickly Chris turned on her once before.
“Rihanna has no issues with her sexuality,” a source tells Star. “But she’d be mortified if her friends and family found this out!”
Insiders say Rihanna is still emotionally fragile and vulnerable since the Feb. 8 assault that left her nearly unconscious.
“This whole beating incident is terribly humiliating for her. She’s already traumatized and will do anything to make it all go away as quickly as possible,” explains the insider.
