Swizz Beatz speaks on “Transformers”
The super-producer says he just finished a new single for Chris Brown called “Transformer,” and it features none other than Lil Wayne.
“He’s got something to prove,” Swizz says of working with Brown. “He worked on 60, 70 songs. He’s just on fire. I told him, ‘Listen, man, just stay focused on your music. They gonna throw shots at you. Time heals everything.’ He has great support; his mother is amazing. I was really scoping out the situation, it could have been something I didn’t want to be around, but I really got a great vibe. Honestly.”
Swizz says Wayne is in vintage Louisianimal form on the track, tearing the beat down like a bulldozer.
“The Wayne part is just nothing to talk about,” Swizz boasted. “He really showed his a– on this one. It’s probably the best feature verse since the ‘It’s Me [Bi---es]‘ remix. He really went in on the ‘Transformer’ joint.”
Swizz promises that a video will go into production soon and that the record will hit even sooner.

‘Changed Man’ Producer Battle Roy: ‘Chris Brown Is The Future Of R&B’
When a seemingly new song by Chris Brown entitled “Changed Man” hit the internet this week, many were quick to assume the song had to be about the infamous blow up he had with fellow singer and then-girlfriend Rihanna.
In the song, Chris makes a plea to his girl to right the wrongs he’s done under the scrutiny of the rest of the world. “What do you do when the truth isn’t quite enough/They looking at you telling you we need to break it up…Imma make it up to you and show the world I’m a changed man,” Brown sings in the piano-driven ballad.
A rep at Brown’s record label Jive Records went on record with MTV.com and Billboard, telling them the song was recorded “some time ago, a long time ago, actually,” and could not specify whether or not the song was created after the February incident.
The song’s producer, Battle Roy, told Neon Limelight in a phone interview on Friday (August 14) that the song was, in fact, written and recorded by Brown and songwriter Lonnie B, in March, just weeks after the Grammy morning brawl.
Although the subject matter and timing all point to “Changed Man” being a Rihanna make-up track, Roy — who’s worked with R&B stars Frankie J, Jahiem, and Kelly Rowland — couldn’t confirm if it were for sure. He did, however, tell us he had absolutely no problem with letting Brown use one of his tracks so soon after the public fall out began. “Good music is good music. Good artistry is good artistry,” he said. “You can’t block yourself off because of someone else’s situation.”
“I respect him as an artist, and I respect him as a person. So when the opportunity came about to do this and know that the song was being worked on by him, I jumped to it because he’s a great artist and he is the future of R&B no matter what anyone says.”
Roy says he does not know for certain if this song or any of the many others he’s done for Chris will land on his upcoming third album, Graffiti, but says if fans want it, they should make it known. “Hopefully the people will really speak up about it, and if they like it, the label will follow after the people and listen to what the fans are saying.”
He had just one request of fans who automatically write the song off: listen to it then make an opinion.
“People make mistakes. He has apologized and admitted to whatever happened,” he said. “People need to really move past it and get back to the music that everybody loves him for.
“If you’ve got an opinion of Chris then keep that as B, but A should be if you’re listening to the song, listen for the content matter and the music and see if it’s got a likable quality to you. If it doesn’t, then keep it moving and go to something else.”

Rihanna Slams Chris Brown in New Song!
Another day, another Rihanna and Chris Brown update. This time, with audio accompaniment!
Rihanna and the unstoppable Lady GaGa — I’m convinced there are five of her running around — are teaming up on Chris Brown. And guess who’s getting the word out … Kanye West.
Kanye posted a new collaboration track by RiRi and GaGa (hehe, funny) called “Silly Boy” on his blog last night and boy are the lyrics awfully revealing. I’m not sure if this song is a direct jab at the accused gal beater Chris Brown or just a downright coincidence … wait, I’m pretty sure it’s a jab.
A key verse on the track is “’cause you had a good girl, good girl, girl /That’s a keeper /You had a good girl, good girl /but didn’t know how to treat her.” Yep, sounds like she is talking to Mr. Brown. “Game’s over, you lose,” she says. Look who finally found her pair of smarty pants and got a clue.
My favorite part of this little nugget of info isn’t the actual song, but the fact that Kanye posted it, and for free to download. It looks like he wants us all to have a hot summer track -

BEENIE MAN CALLS CHRIS BROWN AN “IDIOT” IN FRONT OF CROWD & RIHANNA
Just got some interesting news. Website Islandista is reportng that at a concert in Barbados this past weekend reggae susperstar Beenie Man performed for an audience which included Rihanna.
MediaTakeOut.com claims that during Beenie’s performance, he called out Chris Brown – in front of nearly 10,000 fans. Here’s how Islandista is reporting it:
Beenie touched the stage at about 7:30 and gave a generally decent performance - certainly the crowd was with him.
Then … he start calling for Rihanna to “report back stage immediately”.
And then he start talking up a set of things about the infamous beating incident between her and Chris Brown, asking the crowd if they [thought] it was “an idiot thing that Chris did” while singing a very off-key version of the hook to ‘Umbrella’. You could hear a collective ‘ooooohhhh!’ as the crowd sucked in its breath when he said it.
For most that would be enough, but not for Beenie. He continued on his rampage:
Beenie kept calling for [Rihanna] and singing ‘Umbrella’ and lo and behold, she actually came up on the stage. Then he start singing his version of Umbrella , part of which went “I don’t have no fancy car/But [I’ll] never give you no scar”.
Trust me. I was shame for de girl. Everyone was shame because the crowd didn’t really hype up and carry on the way they had been earlier when he was just performing all his hits. I just wanted it to end.
This sounds painful … but it doesn’t end there:
But Beenie wasn’t done. He told her that Chris [will] get vexed when he sees the pictures of him (Beenie) and Rihanna hugging up on stage because he is the ‘girls dem suga’ and anything the sugar touches get sticky.

Shontelle speaks about Chris Brown and Rihanna
In a recent interview Hot 107.9 had with Shontelle backstage at a concert, she was asked about Chris Brown and Rihanna:
You are from Barbados, you know Rihanna, a good friend. What’s the deal with princess RiRi and Chris Brown right now? You gotta gimme the inside scoop ya know, because I know you guys went to camp etc together.
“Yeah, well I mean, as far as I know they broke up, I’m not asking any questions that’s their personal lives but I’m just glad to know that she’s back up and she is having the time of her life. She’s at home in Barbados right now and I don’t know the last time I went home or the next time I’m going there. So right now I’m really jealous of her.”

Ciara Explains Why She Keeps Chris Brown’s Duet Track
“The record sounds dope and I feel good about it. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the album,” Ciara tells Rap-Up. “I had to keep it the same. I’m sticking to it just being about the music in this case. What happened with them is personal and I don’t really know everything. All I know is I love the record.”
Chris Brown was rumored to be scrapped from Ciara’s collaborators list after Ciara told hosts Terrence and Rocsi during her visit on BET’s “106 & Park” on February 23 that she might re-record the track. “Now you may hear it a little bit differently than what you’ve heard it, but in a cool way,” she said at the time.
Beside Chris, Ciara also lines up , , , and as her duet partners in the new album. She will release the record in U.S. stores on May 3.

Mike Tyson Comments On Chris Brown: ‘He’s Just A Baby’
Few people can say they identify with what Chris Brown might be feeling in the wake of his alleged altercation with Rihanna, but Mike Tyson is one of them.
The former heavyweight champ — whose life is the subject of the new documentary “Tyson,” set for release on Friday — has a history of legal trouble involving women. While he was married to actress Robin Givens in the late 1980s, their relationship was plagued with accusations of violence and spousal abuse against Tyson. And in the early ’90s, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington and served three years in prison.
When asked about Brown by MTV News this week, Tyson said, “It’s none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids.
“My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a baby,” he continued, with a tone of empathy toward the 19-year-old Brown. “He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. And he probably hears this and thinks, ‘I know how to handle my emotions’; we all think we do. But the fact [is], you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don’t know how to handle those feelings.”
While there are obviously many differences between his situation and Brown’s, Tyson said he believes a different mentality is prevalent these days. “Now you’re a fly guy and a cool guy, you have this pimp mentality. You have to be hard like that.”
Tyson was also extremely contrite about his history of violence toward women. “You can’t abuse them,” he said. “It’s really sick what you [can] do. She has a space in your heart and you believe you care about her more than anybody in the world.
“Do I think it’s right to beat up a woman? No — hell no,” he continued. “Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I’m a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never.”

Soulja Boy: I Hope They Get Through It
Chris Brown and Rihanna were conspicuously absent at the Kid’s Choice Awards this weekend. Both were nominated for awards (though Brown withdrew his nominations) and both appeared at the show last year.
“For them not to be here is very sad. I was looking forward to seeing them here,” said Soulja Boy. “Right now, it’s a sad situation. And it’s very touchy. I’m just …. it just shocked me when it happened.”
Soulja Boy said he’s spoken with Brown over the phone and that he’s “doing OK.”
“Yeah, right now, it’s a delicate time,” he added. “You know, the court date is coming up. I hope that they both get through it in a positive way.”

Jordin Sparks Addresses Rumors of Chris Brown Collabo
LOS ANGELES — Back in 2008, Jordin Sparks hooked up with Chris Brown for her VMA- and Grammy-nominated hit “No Air.” Since then, a lot has changed for Brown in light of the incidents that took place last February, when he allegedly assaulted on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna.
When MTV News caught up with Sparks at John Mayer’s “One Splendid Evening” benefit concert for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation on Thursday night, she addressed rumors that she’d once again be working with Brown for her forthcoming album. “It wasn’t planned [as a duet],” she said of a certain song. “I had gotten a song he had been a part of.”
She was quick to point out that the Brown-penned track may not even appear on her album. “He had written [the song], and I’m not sure if I’m going to get to it yet,” she explained. “I haven’t recorded it yet, so we’ll see.”
Back in 2008, “No Air” video director Chris Robinson told MTV News how great the two singers worked together and how impressed he was by their work ethic at such a young age.
“When I was 18 or 19, I most definitely did not have it together like these two! When you see Jordin and Chris you see two artists that will hopefully continue to push the envelope artistically,” Robinson gushed about the twosome. “We all ended up putting a piece of ourselves into this project.”

Tyrese Talks Chris Brown and Rihanna
Chris Brown may not be the most popular guy right now, but friend Tyrese Gibson says everyone needs to take a step back and give him and Rihanna breathing room while they sort through a trying time.
“Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it’s really taking a toll on his spirit,” Gibson said at Sunday’s 2009 Ball Up Street Ball Tour. “People like me and Puff, we’re just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he’s going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna.”
In February, Brown, 19, allegedly assaulted the Barbadian singer and his name has since appeared in countless negative articles and discussions of domestic abuse. Rihanna, too, has faced fallout, including criticism for taking Brown back. (According to one source, they have since decided to take a break.)
“It’s really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to,” said Gibson. “At the end of the day, I’m not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us. And a lot of people forget that he’s 19, she’s only 21.”

So over it.
Akon: I’d Work With Chris Brown!
WASHINGTON (AP) — Akon says he’d work with Chris Brown despite the 19-year-old’s legal troubles and public image problem.
Akon says he doesn’t condone domestic violence. But he also says Chris Brown is human and people make mistakes, and he doesn’t think Brown’s career should be on hold because of it. He says Brown will learn from his experience and hopefully treat the next woman differently.
Brown is charged with two felonies for allegedly beating girlfriend Rihanna. Since the attack, Brown has seen his endorsement deals fade away and some radio stations have stopped playing his music.

Oprah Winfrey: Heal yourself first
Oprah Winfrey is the latest celebrity weighing in on Rihanna and Chris Brown’s domestic drama. And she’s taking action, too.
“Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself,’ ” Winfrey said during a live, roundtable discussion Friday on her talk show. “‘Heal yourself first.”
She additionally strongly advised, “And also, love doesn’t hurt. I’ve been saying this to women for years: ‘If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.’ “
Moved by the allegations of abuse, and the fact that Rihanna is still dating Brown, Winfrey says she plans to dedicate an upcoming episode of her show to the topic of domestic violence.
“It makes me so sad that I said to the producers, ‘I want to do a show about it this week dedicated to all the Rihanna’s of the world,’ ” Winfrey said, citing a statistic that one out of four women in the country are battered.
Sitting at the table with Winfrey, Gayle King echoed her friend’s sentiments while she also weighed in about the pop stars’ relationship.
“My thing about this is, if you guys want to get back together, I’m okay with that, but at least take some time,” she said. “I’m so worried that she’s sending the wrong message to the fans. And [to] him, too.”

Usher Issues An Apology for Chris Brown Comment
Usher issued a statement late Tuesday (March 3) apologizing for the comments he made toward Chris Brown, which appeared in a video posted by Jermaine Dupri.
“The comments made during a recent recording session amongst friends were taken out of context and blown out of proportion,” the statement reads. “I apologize on behalf of myself and my friends if anyone was offended. The intentions were not to pass judgment and we meant no harm. I respect and wish the best for all parties involved.”
The comments regarded pictures of Brown that emerged over the weekend, which showed him riding a jet ski during what was called his “reconciliation” weekend in Miami with girlfriend Rihanna.
In the video, Usher said that instead of riding around on a jet ski, the 19-year-old singer should “have a little bit of remorse” for the alleged incident. The comments in the clip, part of Dupri’s “Living the Life” series, were recorded on Monday, according to comments from Usher, who is shown huddled around a laptop discussing a series of photos with some other men in a recording studio.

Flo Rida Clears Up “Sweat” Rumors
Flo Rida denies he’s taking Chris Brown to task in his upcoming album.
The rapper tells Usmagazine.com exclusively that the rumors that he removed a collaborative track with Brown from his upcoming R.O.O.T.S. album — because of the singer’s publicized altercation with Rihanna –are untrue.
The reports, which have been published on various sites, quote Rida as saying: “I recorded a great song with Chris. But I won’t be releasing it now because of what’s going on with him and Rihanna. It could have been my next No. 1.”
Rida — whose song, “Right Round,” currently tops the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart — tells Us he never said that.
“I think someone must have got it twisted,” Rida says. “The thing was, we have deadlines to meet and between his business and my business, things were – we had to turn an album, so I had to really get everything together.”
Rida says that the track, “Sweat,” wasn’t even the only song cut from his upcoming album.
“It’s not just that record, there were other records that couldn’t make the album that I wanted to make the album as well, but that was the process — this was way before me ever hearing anything about [Brown allegedly beating Rihanna]. This was way before, at least a month. I had been done with this record.”
Would he ever work with Brown in the future?
“He’s a talented artist, so I looked forward to working with him,” he tells Us. “And I thought it was a hot song.”

Flo Rida Excludes “Sweat” From Upcoming Album
Chris may not be letting his current legal trouble get to him, but it seems that everyone one else is. The latest news come from (C)Rapper Flo Rida. He recently decided to exclude the song “Sweat” which featured Chris.
“I recorded a great song with Chris. But I won’t be releasing it now because of what’s going on with him and Rihanna,” the rapper reportedly stated in a statement according to numerous reports. Meanwhile other reports state there were clearance issues.
Oh, please. The song was mediocre at best anyway. Why is Flo Rida still relevant? The only reason he sells is because of the artists he collaborates with. He couldn’t sell a single record by himself. The instrumental of “Right Round” is jammin’ though!

Kanye West defends Chris Brown
In the wake of the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident, Kanye West spoke out, saying Rihanna was like the rapper’s “baby sis” and noting he would “do anything and everything to help her in any situation.”
But on Saturday, West joined VH1’s “Storytellers” fold, and came to the defense of Brown.
“Can’t we give Chris a break?” West told the audience. “I know I make mistakes in life.”
During the show, the always-candid West told stories as he introduced several of his songs, including “Heartless” and “Robocop.” But Brown and Rihanna weren’t the only controversial topics he addressed.
When the show aired, producers cut out West’s plea for Brown, but they did leave in his anger against Dr. Jan Adams, the surgeon who performed his mother’s deadly plastic surgery.

Mekhi Phifer: “People Make Mistakes”
Chris Brown’s friend and onetime movie costar Mekhi Phifer says no matter what happens between Brown and Rihanna, he wishes “them both the best.”
While not making any apologies for Brown’s alleged assault, Phifer thinks his age, 19, was a big factor in what went down between the two singers.
“People make mistakes—and while I don’t condone what happened that night, you know, what Chris did to her—I remember being young, 19, and at that age it seemed like everything was so over-the-top, and everyone’s so passionate about things at the age,” Phifer told us at this weekend’s World Poker Tournament Invitational at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles.
Phifer and Brown costarred in the 2007 dramedy This Christmas. Phifer was also an executive producer of the flick, which told the story of a family that reunites for the holidays for the first time in four years.
Phifer says the Grammys eve incident will likely impact the singers’ careers, but no one can predict how much and in what ways. “I think this whole thing will affect him, and I think it will affect her,” he said. “With both of them, their fan base is mainly women and kids, so I don’t know what kind of example that leads, but like I said, I wish them all the best.”
Phifer has not spoken to Brown since the alleged assault and subsequent arrest, but says he has a “circle of people” to lean on.
Phifer hit the three-day poker event because proceeds from the tournament benefited the former ER star’s charity, the Vine Group USA, a nearly 10-year-old organization that provides educational assistance throughout Africa.

David Banner: Don’t Hate On Chris Brown
As a fitting addition to Black History Month, recording artist, actor and philanthropist David Banner, discussed the topic “Black on Black Crime,” at South Carolina State University’s 2nd annual Hip-Hop Symposium on Feb. 16.
Banner, whose real name is Levell Crump, spoke about his experience in the music business, his time in college and the work he is doing to educate African Americans about the hate we spread among each other.
Banner said hip-hop is sick because America is sick. “Most problems that you have in hip-hop can be directly connected with something that is actually going on in society,” he said. “If there is a lot of violence in America, there usually a lot of violence in American music.”
Banner also lamented the treatment of Chris Brown by the media and by black people in general. “Why do we allow young black men to be crucified the way that we do and we do not stand up for each other,” he said.
“The same thing happens in hood, all the rappers are talking about Chris Brown, but they do not stand up when all these kids in the hood are getting murdered every day.”
Eminem, he said, can sing about beating his wife or even do it, and nobody will pull his records of the radio station. He went on to say that rock groups are perpetuating violence every day, but do not face the same consequences. “I remember when they took Ludacris off the Pepsi commercial and replaced him with who…..Ozzy Osbourn, the man who bit the head off a bat and smothered feces all over himself.”
According to press reports, Ludacris lost an endorsement deal with Pepsi in 2002 when The O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly attacked the soft drink manufacturer for supporting an artist whom O’Reilly described to have socially irresponsible lyrics.
The blame, Banner says, lies with us, the consumers, who support music with violent lyrics. “Do you know why rappers beef?” he said. “Rappers beef, because yall buy it, and yall go on the internet and read it.”
Despite this, Banner, who was the Student Government Association President when he attended Southern University Baton Rouge, definitely considers himself an advocate of hip-hop, and plans to continue with his music career. He also is eager to begin creating his own films.
Banner has released five albums with hits like “Crank It Up” and “Ain’t Got Nothing.” He starred in the 2007 film Black Snake Moan and in the Adult Swim cartoon show “That Crook’d ‘Sipp” in 2007.
Sherman Pyatt, chairperson of the symposium, said the event was organized to bring awareness to a very important social issue in our community. “We hope to encourage our students, faculty, staff and the Orangeburg community to identify problems, search for answers, and discuss these issues in a critical manner.”

Bow Wow: The Picture Speaks For Itself

Rapper Bow Wow, who is a friend of Chris Brown, recently opened up about the controversy surrounding Brown and the alleged abuse of his girlfriend, Rihanna.
Bow Wow admits that when he first heard the reports, he was skeptical. “I mean, being in the business, the first thing is ‘Ah, it’s false, another rumor, bloggers just wanting to have traffic to their site,’” Bow Wow told OK! magazine, “but when the story was unfolding, it was kind of shocking to all. Chris is a good friend of mine. We’ve had the opportunity to tour together. And then Rihanna, she’s just a beautiful person. Period. Never done no wrong to nobody.”
The young musician continued, “At the end of the day I’ve always believed in whatever happens with people’s business… my mom always told me don’t get into. And the situation is so major, I think they just need their space and I think they need to deal with it… I’m praying for them both.”
Bow Wow revealed that he was shocked by the picture of Rihanna that leaked last week, showing the starlet with a swollen lip, cuts and bruises on her face — reportedly at the hands of Brown. “Just shocking,” Bow Wow admitted. “I mean, we heard what happened, but we really didn’t get a visual for it. But I mean hey, man. The picture speaks for itself.”

What The Celebs Are Saying
CARRIE UNDERWOOD
“I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened. I have no advice because, thank goodness, I’ve never been in any kind of abusive situation. You hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who’s involved figure out everything first.”
JAY-Z
“This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”
KELLIE PICKLER
“I think the world would be a better place if people worried more about what they needed to do to be better people, than … judging others on what kind of people they are. I don’t know what really went on with Rihanna and Chris, and I dont think anyone else does, either. The only people who really, truly know are only the two of them, so I am not going to assume or comment. I’m going to mind my own business.”
HEIDI MONTAG
“I don’t know what happened there, but our thoughts and prayers go out to both of them. Its such a crazy situation. I hope everything heals. I don’t know what to say.”
UGLY BETTY’S MARK INDELICATO
“I don’t really know that much about it. I think that doing that to a woman is wrong in any way. It doesn’t matter who did it to you. But, you know, I don’t know that much about it, so I can’t really comment too much on it.”
LINDSAY LOHAN
“I have no comment on that. That’s not my relationship. I have no reason to speak about it. I think they’re both great people.”
LUPE FIASCO
“They are great live and both are good people. It’s a tragedy.”
MOLLY SIMS
“It’s so sad. I don’t think anybody knows the whole truth, but I guess the truth really doesn’t matter when [abuse] is the result. That should never happen, no matter what. And I love his music. That being said, I think [about] Rihanna : No girl, no woman, no mother, no sister, no friend, no one deserves that. Absolutely.”
NIA LONG
“I know both of them well. They’re young, and all we can do is pray for them at this point.”
RUBEN STUDDARD
“I’m still praying for him. Everybody always has something negative to say about everything, and I always try to be positive. They’ve both made wonderful careers for themselves, and I think they will continue to do so for the rest of their lives.”
MARY J. BLIGE
“They’re both young and beautiful people, and that’s it.”
MARK CURRY
“Women, throughout history, have been beaten and prostituted. Even today in movies and music, they’re portrayed as low-grade, so you know, he’s a youngster, and he can correct his ways. It’s just a tragedy - women and abuse.”

More Stars Weigh In On Chris Brown and Rihanna
You know, some people ought to keep their mouths shut. Us included.
Here’s an excerpt from an article by USA Today:
To no one’s surprise, neither Rihanna or Chris Brown, who were each nominated at the 40th NAACP Image Awards, attended the ceremony Thursday night at the Shrine Auditorium. Brown and Rihanna canceled appearances at Sunday’s Grammy Awards after news broke about Brown’s involvement in an assault on a woman the previous night. Police have not identified the woman, but Brown, 19, was seen leaving a pre-Grammy gala Saturday with Rihanna, 20, before the suspected assault.
Few stars wanted to weigh in on the controversy. Sean Combs, a winner for his role in the TV miniseries A Raisin in the Sun, had a terse, “No comment,” about the situation.
Others, like Sean Patrick Thomas, wanted to give Brown the benefit of the doubt. “I just know what you hear on TMZ or other garbage like that. I don’t know the facts yet and I don’t think anybody does.”
Keshia Knight Pulliam, of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and The Cosby Show, said, “I don’t condone violence against women in any form or fashion, but at the end of the day, you’re innocent until proven guilty. None of us really know what those circumstances were because we weren’t there.”
Rosario Dawson, a best actress winner for her role in the film Seven Pounds, took the opportunity to speak out against domestic violence. “I’m on the board of V-Day which is about stopping violence against women and children. If anything good can come out of this, hopefully it’s that this conversation will come forward, because we should not tolerate that kind of behavior. There are no excuses for it at all. I’ve met Rihanna a few times, and she’s such a sweet young lady and definitely my heart goes out to her.“
Will Smith, the king of the world (and we’re not kidding), had this to say:
Jada and I reached out to both of them. If it’s help they need, then let’s get it right. This is a time where they need to be left alone and if they have things they need to work out, work it out…People should take a minute before they jump on it and judge. We don’t know nothing. If there are mistakes people make, then they should be willing to live up to the mistakes and do whatever penance they need to do. I don’t think it’s up to us, specifically the media, with such a fast hand to try to chop someone’s head off. (source)
