Chris Brown Billboard & iTune Updates!

POSTED BY Sharrod ON December 17th, 2009

Chris Brown has had a rough year and many doubted that he could ever have a career again, and doubted the success of his album Graffiti, but through it all, you true Breezy fans stuck by him and made SURE he wouldn’t fail, and by the look of these stats, he didn’t. With barely any promo for his album, no TV performances, his CD being blackballed by major outlets etc, I would say CB weathered the storm and came out proving all the naysayers wrong with stats like this.

Billboard 200

  • Graffiti debut: #7

Billboard HipHop/R&B

  • Graffiti debut: #1

Billboard digital downloads

  • Graffiti debut: #3

As for iTunes, Chris I can transform ya song just went gold with over 500k downloads!

Chris Brown is STILL the prince of R&B and the future of it. His image may have been damaged, but his talent stays the same.

Artist of the Decade - #29

Hot 100 Songs - #34 (Run It), #93 (Kiss Kiss), #100 (Forever)
Billboard 200 Artists - #143
Radio Songs Artist - #6
Radio Songs Chart - #12 (Run It), #63 (With You), #88 (Kiss Kiss), #94 (No Air)
Digital Songs Artist - #11

Ringtones Artist - #6

The above charts were comprised using radio airplay, audience impressions, album sales (digital and physical), single sales (digital and physical) and ringtone tracking using the Nielsen Soundscan tracking system, over a ten year period.

Not bad for someone who’s only been around 4 out of those 10 years.

Chris Brown earns strong Hot 100 debut on Billboard

POSTED BY Sharrod ON October 15th, 2009

Chris Brown is officially back on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to “I Can Transform Ya”.

The Lil Wayne assisted single debuted at no.52 on Thursday’s Hot 100 update, just a week after its debut.

Produced by Swizz Beatz, Brown’s “I Can Transform Ya” precedes the release of a long anticipated album titled “Graffiti”.

Slated for release later this year, “Graffiti” follows the “So Cold” singer’s 2007 album “Exclusive”.

Spawning the hit singles “Forever,” “Superhuman,” “Kiss Kiss,” “Wall To Wall” and “Take You Down,” “Exclusive” has been certified Platinum (in the United States) since its release.

Chris Brown named artist of the year by Billboard

POSTED BY Whitney ON December 12th, 2008

NEW YORK — The accolades keep coming for Chris Brown — this time, he’s been named Billboard’s top artist of 2008.
“It’s bigger than what I can ever imagine. It’s unexpected totally, so it’s a surprise,” Brown said in an interview Thursday.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise for Brown. He not only nabbed the Billboard honor in 2006, he had a great ‘08, with solo hits like “With You” and “Forever” as well as successful collaborations, like the Jordin Sparks duet “No Air.” Last month, he won three awards at the American Music Awards, including artist of the year.

But the 18-year-old Brown says he’s still not used to all the accolades.

“I’ve had a good year but I still feel like a little insecure in those parts. I’m like, ‘There’s little ol’ me getting an award’ — that’s incredible,” he said.
