The “Real” Reason Chris Brown didn’t perform at the BET Awards?

POSTED BY Sharrod ON June 29th, 2009

While Chris Brown’s dancer, B Shaw, claims that Jay-Z was the reason Chris was unable to perform last night, our partner GossipOnThis.com claims to have exclusive insider information that paints a very different picture:

“Chris Brown was supposed to open the show but BET executives were not agreeing to let Chris go on stage after they had already established that he was performing,” a source revealed to Gossip On This. “A lot of reports were saying that he was using this as a way to rebuild his image. So at the last minute, he was pulled. … After 3 days of rehearsal, they pulled Chris Brown from the show…”

SOURCE: GossipOnThis

Either way, BET was foolish for not allowing Chris Brown to perform. According to multiple reports, the Jackson family wanted Chris Brown to perform a tribute to Michael. After all, no one would have done it better. The 2009 BET Awards were truly a mess. Hopefully the 2010 brings something way better.

Rest In Peace Michael Jackson - the greatest there ever was, and ever will be.

POSTED BY Dominique ON May 20th, 2009

The songwriter of the year award at the 57th annual BMI Pop Awards resulted in a record-breaking, eight-way tie between Colbie Caillat, Polow Da Don, T-Pain, Alan Chang, Matchbox Twenty’s Paul Doucette and Brian Yale, Chris Brown, and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine.

As for the eight-way shared songwriter of the year award, each of the winners contributed two songs to the 50 most-performed list. The 57th BMI Pop Awards were held tonight (May 19) at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.

Caillat also won song of the year honors for “Bubbly,” her international hit published by CocoMarie. She co-wrote with singer/songwriter Jason Reeves. In addition to “Bubbly,” Caillat’s “Realize” earned a spot in the top 50. Polow Da Don contributed “Forever,” co-written and recorded by Chris Brown, and “Love In This Club,” recorded by Usher and featuring Young Jeezy, to the 50 most performed list.

Other songs on the list are T-Pain’s “Kiss Kiss,” which was also recorded and co-written by Chris Brown; “Low,” recorded by Flo Rida; Alan Chang’s “Everything” and “Lost,” both recorded by Michael Bublé; Matchbox Twenty’s Yale and Doucette’s co-compositions “How Far We’ve Come” and “These Hard Times,” from the band’s retrospective “Exile on Mainstream” album; and Maroon 5 frontman Levine’s “Wake Up Call” and “Won’t Go Home Without You,” which he recorded with the rock band. Grammy Nominations!

POSTED BY Dominique ON December 3rd, 2008

How do you feel about this years nominations?

View Results

*You can select up to two options!

In a slightly disappointing turn for us Chris Brown fans last night, he scored 2 nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. Not to say I am not happy for him, because believe me - it’s still an honor, it’s just expected a different turn out. It is clear to anyone who has a brain that Chris Brown has been everywhere for the past two years and he is not slowing down any time soon. I agree with some fans that have left comments on the site that “With You” should have been nominated as well as his album “Exclusive”. I don’t know. The Grammy Awards are just not what they used to be. Hopefully the broadcast is amazing and something fresh. It’s been pretty stiff lately.

Anyway, the nominations:

Best Male R&B Vocal Performance:
Eric Benét - “You’re The Only One”
*Chris Brown - “Take You Down”
Ne-Yo - “Miss Independent”
Trey Songz - “Can’t Help But Wait”
Usher - “Here I Stand”

Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals:
Alicia Keys and John Mayer - “Lessons Learned”
Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland - “Four Minutes”
Robert Plant and Allison Krauss - “Rich Woman”
Rihanna and Maroon 5 - “If I Never See Your Face Again”
*Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown - “No Air”

Make sure to put your two cents in.

Grammy Nominations Air Tonight On CBS

POSTED BY Whitney ON December 3rd, 2008

In an era where awards shows are as commonplace as reality shows, even the top-tier events are finding it hard to stand out.

So the Recording Academy is trying something different when it announces its nominees for its upcoming Grammys. Instead of its traditional morning roll call of nominee names at a staid press conference, top nominees will be revealed during a prime-time concert special to air live Wednesday on CBS.

Among the performers are Mariah Carey, John Mayer and Taylor Swift — a potential nominee.

Make sure you tune in tonight at 9PM EST. We know Chris will get some nominations this year.
It’s time to win his first Grammy!

CHRIS BROWN SWEEPS THE AMAS!

POSTED BY Dominique ON November 23rd, 2008

Okay, so I didn’t watch the whole show because I was spending QT (quality time) with my family, but I did tune in to see Chris win the AMA for Artist of The Year. I know I fail as a webmaster for not ripping it and posting it, but to be completely honest my mind was somewhere else today. Expect photographic coverage tomorrow, and lots of it!

Chris Brown won all three AMAs that he was nominated for including Artist of The Year! (Take that, haters!) He also won Favorite Male Artist (Soul / R&B Music) and Favorite Male Artist (Pop or Rock Music).

Congratulations Chris! To think, just three years ago we were all listening to “Run It!” and now we’re well on our way to crowning Chris Brown the king of Pop music. Yeah, I said it. Chris Brown will soon be the king of Pop music, sorry Michael.

Stay clicked.

Chris Brown Nominated for 2009 NRJ International Male Artist of The Year

Yet another nomination for another award. It just doesn’t stop, does it?! This time Chris Brown is nominated for ‘International Male Artist of The Year’ at the 2009 NRJ Music Awards. So, you know we must do our part so he is declared the winner!

I think that my hands are going to be broken in a few days from clicking on so many “Vote” buttons. LOL! You know what to do. Click here to get your vote on!

Chris Brown Battles It Out for Fuse’s Best of 2008

POSTED BY Dominique ON November 13th, 2008

Fuse

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Fuse! Why? I think it could just be the name. Or, maybe it could be the stuff they have onDemand that I watch all the time when I go visit my friend. Hmm. It’s both.

Well, it seems like the voting never stops for us as Chris Brown fans, doesn’t it? I know I find myself logging on to some site and voting for him (or myself) at least once a day. LOL!

Chris is in the running for Fuse’s Best Video of 2008. It’s an all out war that has some heavy hitting videos like Britney Spears’ “WOMANIZER”, Rihanna’s “DISTRUBIA”, and Lil’ Wayne’s “LOLLIPOP” which is the current opponent of Chris Brown’s “WITH YOU”.

I’m assuming you know what to do, since we do it well and do it often. Click here to make Chris Brown’s “WITH YOU” music video the best music video of 2008.
(Sorry, Britney — you can’t win all the time. <3 you!)

2009 People’s Choicie Awards: Chris Brown Voting Booth

POSTED BY Dominique ON November 12th, 2008

Okay, so it’s really not a voting booth for the People’s Choice Awards, but we can pretend it is, right? Oh, and beware — variations of this post will pop up on the site from time to time, reminding you to VOTE - VOTE - VOTE!

Back to the matter that really matters… The nice PR people from the People’s Choice Awards sent me a reminder to remind you guys to use the widgets to vote for Chris at the 2009 People’s Choice Awards.

If you failed to read the post earlier this week, then you may not know that Chris is one of the leaders of the pack and has scored four nominations. Two for “No Air” with Jordin Sparks, another for “With You”, and the fourth one for just being the freakin’ Best Male Artist — ever! Okay… not ever - YET!

Continue reading the story to use the widgets to vote!
(Don’t want to put them on the main page as you log on to the site — it’ll slow down the user experience)
