The next big dance movie “Battle of The Year” is scheduled to premiere January 25 2013. The movie is about an American b-boy crew who heads to France to compete at the Battle of the Year International Championships. Of course, Chris Brown is in this movie and in the trailer you can see his amazing dance moves!
Plot Summary: Battle of the Year is the Olympics of break dancing, a tournament held every year that attracts all the best teams from around the world, but the Americans haven’t won in fifteen years.
Los Angeles Hip Hop mogul and former B-Boy Dante (Alonso) wants to put the country that started the Sport back on top. He enlists his hard-luck friend Blake (Holloway), who was a championship basketball coach, to coach his team. Armed with the theory that the right coach can make any team champions, they assemble a Dream Team of all the best b-boys across the country. With only three months until Battle of the Year, Blake has to use every tactic he knows to get twelve talented individuals to come together as a team if they’re going to bring the Trophy back to America where it started. Inspired by the actual World championship held yearly in France.
Hey TeamBreezy France! It looks like our boy is headed your way. He tweeted moments ago that he’d be making his way to Paris to begin shooting his next film, ‘Planet B-Boy’ with cast members Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, Josh Peck and Caity Lotz.
Production started in L.A. a couple weeks ago, but will be moving to Montpellier, France. The film, based on the documentary originally released in 2007, is tentatively scheduled to be released in 2012.
Check out what Chris had to say about it:
Looks like Chris Breezy will taking on the silver screen again. He recently scored a role in the movie Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man, based on Steve Harvey’s book by the same name. The book explores intimacy, relationships, love, and commitment from a male’s perspective.
BET’s 106 & Park host, Terrence J. will also star in the upcoming film and has already headed to Los Angeles to begin shooting. Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, comedian Kevin Hart and Gabrielle Union will also appear in the upcoming film. Steve Harvey took to Twitter to congratulate Chris on his upcoming role. No word on when the movie is scheduled to release.

It seems UK fans are harder to please than US fans, as Takers arrives at No. 14 on the UK Box Office Chart this week, taking in a mere £208,000 from 151 screens. Compare that to the US release which saw Takers hit the top spot, taking in $20,000,000 over the first weekend. Apparently though, the film’s distributer (Sony) decided that it wasn’t worth marketing the film in the UK but would instead focus on its other releases a.k.a. The Social Network.
Landing with a thud at number 14 is heist action flick Takers, starring Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen, Paul Walker, TI, Idris Elba and Chris Brown. An opening of just £208,000 from 151 screens suggests distributor Sony pretty much gave up on the title, presumably calculating that marketing cash would be better spent on the studio’s upcoming likely hits The Social Network and Easy A.

Released just over three weeks ago Chris Brown’s latest adventure in the heist film Takers, has officially passed the $50 million mark at the US Box Office with a total domestic gross of $50,271,000. The film starring T.I. and Idris Elba, amongst other stars, opened in the US less than a month ago and is set to be released in foreign box offices over the next few weeks meaning that it’s worldwide release may bring the film’s total gross into the $80,000,000+ territory.
FYI: This weekend hasn’t been included in the domestic Takers total meaning that it’s domestic gross may increase by a few million.

Despite falling to #2 this week (screw you “The American” lol!), Chris Brown’s latest film “Takers” took in a healthy $11,000,000 this weekend, bringing its total domestic gross to $37,900,000 – already making it a financial success for Sony as the film was made on a $32 million budget. We just keep showing the world how it’s done Team Breezy.
So what about it, have you been to see “Takers” yet? Let us know in the comments what you thought of it and can we get it back to #1 this week?

Team Breezy, today we all proved that we don’t take NO for an answer!
When we were told Chris’s career was doomed, we continued to support him; when we were told “Takers” was not going to be a box office success, we went out and we saw it multiple times. Well, Team Breezy, after a long weekend it has been announced today that Takers is officially the #1 film in the US this week! The film raked in $20,512,304 beating out the studio and analyst expectations and bumping “The Last Exorcism” into second place.
FYI: It was a close race for the top spot between the two films with only $140,000 seperating them, but we came out on top!
