Chris has released the following statement in regards to the Larry King interview snippets:

“There have been reports on the internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight.

That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like 4 or 5 times — and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said.

The first four times – or how ever many times it was – I gave the same answer — which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time – or whatever it was – I just misspoke. I was asked, “Do you remember doing it?” and I said, “No.”

Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am or is what happened like anything I have ever done before.

As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future.”

I really cant wait to see the whole interview, and for this whole thing to be over and done with.

  • Layla

You tell'em Chris! I was beginning to worry about you for a minute, now I feel better.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/samantha2 samantha

i know right..i was like he said "WOW" ..thats all… huh???

      lol.glad it got cleared..

  • sugar3

chris, THANK YOU for correcting the sneak peak of your interview with larry…i have seen nothing but bad comments about it….it seems you will have to defend yourself for a long time but people should just wait for the actual televised version of your side and then let them pass judgement…honesty is the best policy….god bless both you and your mum….

  • aMIISWAQQ

REALLY TV PEOPLE ALWAYS DO THAT
TAKE BITS AND PIECEES AND TRY 2 MAKE PEOPLE LOOK BAD
GOOD THING HE SET IT STRAIGHT

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/samantha2 samantha

its sad that he has to keep clearing himself up…

    damn.

they did that on purpose to make him look bad..

  • CB's Wifey :)

After just watching the 30 second preview and all the comments on all different websites, i cryed, and the whole thing hasnt even come out yet. I will be in tears watching the whole thing, and seeing chris' mom crying! :( He set it all straight, fuck what the haters say!

  • True2u

Why am i mad at his PR team? They didn't prepare him.. better yet did he really have to do this Larry King interview now?? I didn't get the whole apology video either. To me he just needs to do his time first. He pleaded guilty, People mag interview sounds interesting. And they are usually fair to the person. So that should of been enough. I just think he needed to lay low after feb. No jet skiing., La night clubs, chains.. etc. Do the good PR thing. And usually being out of sight awhile will help.
I think he needs to wait on promoting anything til next year.
The sponsors are still mad, so do his service, DV classes. Start a program for abused children or something. And then comeback to discuss how this all has effected you.

I need to start my own PR firm…

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Tima1 Tima1

      @True2u
PR firm, uhm interesing. Idk if you're aware of the gossip & hearsay that People magazine (People.com) covers about Chris but it they have been biased to say the least.

      Just food for thought =/

    • Kiss Kiss

But again that's your opinion. Most of his fans are schizophrenic, they want to know everything about him24/7 and then they want him to hide when things aren't what they seem.

All hindsight is 20/20 and most comments on this plus other fan sites and blogs think they know what's best for him. True his PR team sucks, but no one around him is hitting it out of the park, really. He has a lot of baggage to get out of his life, and he has the time to do it.

@True I cant say enough how the PR team SUCKS! We could all do a better job then they have done and I never liked CBs choice of lawyers either. I never thought it looked good that he got the man who represented Scott Peterson. His lawyer SCREWED him over but not letting him plead guilty from day one it could have been over and done with mths ago and he wouldnt have gotten the stay away order issued.

CNN needs to be shamed and I love them but they were wrong for setting this interview clip up but they wanted ratings.

CB way to MAN up something folks have dogged u about all day and kudos to you for continuing not to throw Rihanna under the bus.

  • Redcupcake

Ya see this just goes to show that the media just wants to keep him down! I knew he must of said something else because I know he wouldn’t just say he dosent remember. This also says that he does read and he does hear what ppl say about him. That makes me really sad for him. If he would have not said anything until his community service was done then ppl would get mad if he tries to defend himself. Just like that apology video alot of ppl thought it was late over due so if he wouldn’t have said anything and continued to live his life then ppl would have said he isn’t remorseful so really he will never win and that really makes me mad! I just can’t belive ppl would make more assumptions off a 30 second video! I’m sad that he will have to keep defending himself like this.

@ true we gonna start a pr firm for him so stuff like this dosent keep happening cuz truth be told his pr team really does suck but hey what can he do if he dosent have a team. I wonder what it would have been like if he would have pleaded guilty the first time. Maybe ppl wouldn’t be so hard on him but who knows.

    Chris says:
"The first four times – or how ever many times it was – I gave the same answer — which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time – or whatever it was – I just misspoke. I was asked, “Do you remember doing it?” and I said, “No.”

Is the bottom line that he will not discuss that night period? Does it matter that after all the great music & entertaining he has done, historically he will ultimately be known as a ""monstrous woman beater"? Will he have generations of young people yet to come, follow in his footsteps? Will he be an effective role model? Is something Rihanna did so shameful that it would more hurtful to her, than it has been for him, if he discussed it? What is the point of this interview? Did he think they would not ask him about that night? Why wasn't he more prepared to "NOT" answer those type of questions? Will all these questions be answered in that 1 hr interview? TUNE IN WED. SEPT 2, CNN LARRY KING LIVE TO HEAR THE ANSWERS TO THIS QUESTION, (maybe.)

You gotta love him tho, lol. By gosh, he will learn this media game is what it is, whatever that is, haha lol:p

  • alexis

they also make it seem like Chris is still inlove with rihanna..i wonder if that is true..

  • vannilee

Chris if u are reading this no more comment on air, anything you have to say do it through the print media and just like someone has said "they want blood" so think about what you are doing before you go about doing it . You should ask your probation officer to outlin everything that can cause you to violate your probation. You can start giving comments whenever you have started doing what you were sentenced for as to your progress. Give back to children, doing talks for them on DV and the impact it can have on their future using your incident and what you are going through to help them realized the seriousness of what can happen.. I literately beg of you no more talking until u have started what you were sentence to do. You can never say enough to please these haters. I know you are a good person and do things from you heart but it takes time to heal broken wounds and with patience and the right attitude you can do it. God bless you and I am praying for you.

    • Heaven-Sent

I agree, I agree. Chris just let it go. We still love you, so you can stop trying to prove you are a great person we know this. You can't win this without Rihanna. If she would speak out in your defense that would help, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. Please as a true fan just move on. LET GO AND LET GOD. PLEASE

  • vannilee

Honestly I pray all will work in his favor for this interview I think people were forgiving him and now the haters are at it again wow.

  • Morrielle

Okay.. so I wonder what the interview was about then, if he isn't going to talk about the incident… Like what was the purpose of this interview? And I'm really asking.

  • Toya

Hmm… I wonder what he meant when he said that he didn't really think it was fair to Rihanna…

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/utgrl91 utgrl91

Hmm… I wonder as well. We'll just have to wait for two whole days!!! I'm too anxious to wait though.

      • Toya

        Yea, me to.

  • True2u

Well i still think he should of just did a print interview like People and kept it moving, Finish his sentence,class.. Speak against violence.etc. He is not prepared for this media game. Its vicious and they want his head on a platter. No matter what he says its not going to do any good at this point. B/c they think he should of gone to jail. And the Opps chain, and partying isn't helping.

I think he should of gone back to VA after the sentencing. Not did the apology video. Like someone said..it was to late. This is a fresh incident. Plus no other celeb news is happening. Except people dying. After the funeral back to hating Chris.

I think after people see he's doing his time, trying to help other w/ anger. of course after he really is getting help. Then comeback well prepared and versed on what to say etc..

I do think rihanna should speak out first on the incident. Its in her court. B/c again if she comes out w/ that whole police report story. People are going to hate him again. But if they really friends, and she calls his mom "mom" etc.. Maybe she'll also go w/ the he aint a monster angel. And they both need to learn how to deal w/ emotions, anger, and insecurities.

    I

  • Christina

I wish Chris Brown would confirm if he did an interview with PEOPLE magazine or not, so I'll know for sure whether it is fake or not. I know PEOPLE magazine is suppose to be a reliable source, but I'm just not sure if that interview is real or not.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Tima1 Tima1

      @Christina
Yea I wish he would confirm it also because contrary to poplar belief, People magazine is very much a celebrity gossip magazine like its online affiliate, people.com. It's hard for me to believe that Chris & his mom would agree to that interview. Conveniently the magazine won't be racked until Friday, well after CB's televised interview. Hmmm sounds awfully suspicious.:|

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/oceanmate oceanmate

Here is the People magazine information:

    http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20301364,…

    • brianna

damn….i need to buy that magazine lol

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/oceanmate oceanmate

    @ True2u
I agree with you 100%. His PR folks must have gotten paid first and split. I believe him when he said that he was in shock, and still is for all we know. Going to court where there is a chance you may go to prison would continue the shock from the first onset. I don't think that he was ready, not to say anyone should be preped to lie but he needed more time with a helping professional to sort things out so that his mind would not block out what happened so as not to relive the pain.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/oceanmate oceanmate

Also, Michael Jackson let that lawyer go that Chris has in order to get the charges dropped when he was charged with child molestation. I don't understand why he chose Gerrigos(mispelled), that lawyer when clearly he has had high-profile cases but not much luck or good advice from him.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Tima1 Tima1

      @oceanmate
sorry but Michael did not release Geragos. Geragos successfully defended Michael who was acquitted on all counts of child molestation in that case. He's actually a pretty shrewd criminal defense attorney who's services are sought among celebrities accused of "hardcore" criminal cases.

      • http://intensedebate.com/people/oceanmate oceanmate

Right after Michael died, a mini documentary was shown where in they showed the attorney who finished that case that Geragos started. I will have to do a little home work on it because I did not note any names. But it was a smooth transition in that the attorney was added to the team at first, next Geragos is either replaced or is gone. I think this attorney may have been the same attorney that actor Robert "Barretta" Blake used and was exzonarated from a homicide charge.

        • http://intensedebate.com/people/Tima1 Tima1

          @oceanmate
Touche', lol, my bad, Thomas Mesereau who briefly defend Robert Blake, did wind up defending Mike .I can't remember why Mark Geragos' team were dismissed but I'm gonna research that since my curiosity has been peaked, aha lol.

Btw Mesereau recently held a press conference & he was saying that trial, is what ultimately killed Mike. He said Mike ever recovered emotionally from it. I had a brief lapse in my spirit regarding Chris & what he's going thru but as I watched him on Larry King, I realized although this incident effects him morally, it's obvious that he's intent on taking full responsibility for his actions & is not as stressed as he was before his formal sentencing.

'However, Idk if his career doesn't get back on track, if he'll be so emotionally stable. He may feel he has to carry the torch now Mike's gone bcuz let's face it, there's no one in the game right now capable of doing it. God's not done with him yet & he took a huge step in the right direction.

Although he still is in love with Rihanna, idk that she fits with his life when he is trying to get his career back on track. But he'll get past her if her lets go & lets God :)

          • http://intensedebate.com/people/oceanmate oceanmate

And check this out, the moment Thomas Mesereau took the lead attorney position, the first thing Mesereau did was damage control. A good attorney can do that. The district attorney had demonized the trial with some releases also the chief of police was on news each week makin hard statements. Mesereau put a stop to all of that first thing. (I think that Geragos left to go defend Petterson who was convicted for killing pregnate wife, high profile case which Geragos lost, (bad guy- petterson's girlfriend testified against him) I think Geragos has no damage control tools in his tool box, no experience there

  • TIA

WOW, they just did another bad number on my boy on HLN. Chris if you are reading this just go home, forget about Rihanna and spend time with your family. Obviously she is over this whole situation and it's only making you look bad.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Tima1 Tima1

@TIA (we share our name, but I usually pen under TIMA1, lol)
      What is HLN?

      • TIA

It's another CNN network. The show is called "Showbiz"

  • True2u

Maybe they should of taken a book out of Micheal Vick team.. He was being crucified by Peta…
but look at him. served his time came back w/ the interview. Now he back and they giving him staying ovations.
I just dont get it. I know their was a rumor out he hired Mel Gibsons crisis team. But then they said he didn't. Maybe he needed too..

  • brianna

Right after the incident, Brown tells PEOPLE, he was "distraught" and immediately "went to my mom on the same night and told [her] what happened and broke down."

With the sentencing behind him, Brown is eager to start the court-ordered counseling sessions. "I want to find out what really transpired as far as me that night. I just want to talk to [the counselor], someone who has dealt with this and has an expertise because I think it would be helpful for me to learn how to channel [the anger] and understand my feelings."

Brown says he'd never claim to have forgotten the assault or spend time defending his behavior: "I feel like there's no need to make any excuses. At all."

    love u chris….muah

    • Dani

I also read somewhere in one of these interviews (i think it was in the Larry King interview- printed version) that Chris Brown waited 9 days after the incident to call Rihanna, or text her (which ever one he did) to tell her he was sorry.

  • chrisbrownswifey

he sounds so cute when hes trying to prove a point :)

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/ilovebreezyx ilovebreezyx

i Am Just Praying For Him i Think Yearh Ehts' Right If He Dont Wanna Taalk About Eht ;; Ehts' Up To Him And Eht Is Gonna Hurt Him ;; And That He Always Has To Defend Himself Just When The Interview Comes Out Then Everyone Will Understand (hopefully) :)
i love you chris brown forever<3

  • Tamika

This is crazy, Chris just let them have this one. Go do your community service and come back stronger. No more interviews with media. I really wish that this interview would have never taken place. This is sad.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/annie92 annie92

thank god he cleared that up lol people were starting to think he was "making excuses" for himself (or that he was going insane lol). love ya Chris! :)

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/iSOUL iSOUL

I want to fire his entire PR team and start hiring from scratch. So many more celebrities have done things that are far worse and arguably more outrageous, and their PR have handled their situations far better. With Chris' PR, there was no damage control, there was nothing during the trials to try and clean up his image. Even now, he's being left to fumble over his mistakes and they are allowing the media to rip him to shreds. Good PR wouldn't let certain things happen. Speaking from a strictly business point of view, Chris' PR suck. Just to clarify, I am in no way condoning what he did. I'm just shedding light on other aspects of the situation.

About the interview. I don't think we're going to hear anything about that night. I don't know who he's trying to protect here. If he's trying to protect himself, it's too late. People (excluding fans) can't think any worse of him now than they did before even if he reveals more information.
If he's trying to protect Rihanna, it's understandable, but it's not doing him any good. Either way, he's not doing himself any good.

Ah, I'll just wait until I see the interview. Maybe I'm wrong….

  • TIA

Ok Chris, we are now your PR team. It's to late to take the interview off air, we just hope and pray it don't get worse.

    1. Go to all your fans websites and thank each of them for the love and support and vanish, yes we will miss you, but we know the best thing for you right now is to stay out of the spotlight. Your fansites can always find something to post or we can just go back down memory lane until you completely return.

    2. I know this may be hard for you to do, but sometime you have to let go of the people you love. The judge has ordered you to stay away from Rihanna, so I will need you to do just that. If she want to be with you, she knows she has to go directly to the judge to get this the stay away order lifted.

    3. Stay home and regroup, work on things that will better your career. Think of a new image for you becoming a new man. Exercise, work on your speech, read inspirational books, if you lived close by I could loan you some. Right now the media is playing you to be a dump person, but we know better.

    4. Try catering to your mother more, spend most of your outings with her to show the world you do have respect for female and this will help you to rebuild your image for the ladies as well.

    5. Try not to kiss up to so many other celebrities asses just to fit in, just be yourself, if they have made negatives comments toward you in the past regarding this situation, than just stay away from them. You don't need to be around people who smile in your face in laugh behind your back. Try standing on your own with people who you have known before you became Chris Brown the artist.

    6. Try to come out with a book for teenagers that will help them to be a better girl/boy friend in a relationship. Call it something like "Teenage Love", "Young Love", or "Relationship Manners".

    7. Continue to stay humble and kind, I know the media got you ready to just give up on it all, but you can't, because you still have us.

Anyway Chris just try staying away from the media, they don't like, they don't care if you die today or tomorrow. But your true fans do, we love you. Stay strong, Keep your head up.

  • Redcupcake

    @ tia I couldn’t agree more!

I think he did the interview because maybe he wanted to set the record straight to show ppl that he isn’t some monster and he’s really sorry. Like I said he heard what ppl said about him so maybe he felt he owed it to his fans idk.

Maybe he should just go away for a while maybe do about 2 months of community service then let us see him doing “enjoyable” things cuz right now ppl just want him out cuz if he continues to keep being in the spotight and keep making apologies then it really won’t work out in the end. As much as I like seeing him I also hate seeing ppl make such mean comments about him. So if he dosent lay lowand stop trying to convince everyone then ppl will never like him again. I can’t say anything about the interview until the interveiw comes on! Come on ppl just because he didn’t nessscarly say what happened dosent mean he didn’t say other stuff about anything. I haven’t seen him since last wedsday when he went to the club so maybe he is tryna lay low but ijust hope so

  • http://myspace.com/makeda06 breezer'swife

thats good he wants to protect rihanna's ass .. but i knew he was doing it for his behalf becausee it is still no need to keep talking about it its over damn the media always wanna bring somebody down even more !

    • Tamia

What is he protecting Rihanna from?

  • Kiss Kiss

Delusion harbors is in both camps. I know some of you are really think you got it down, but damn, no you are not equipped to do his PR… not at all! smdh

  • Kiss Kiss

Delusion harbors in both camps. (x the is.)

  • Journei Joi

    @tru2u and tia…too accurate…

There are soo many ways for Chris' activities and words to be twisted…He must avoid all media…

Frankly…for me the apology was more than sufficient…I feel as though there are PR teams from another celebrity that are fueling the negative backlash that seems to ensue everytime Chris laces his shoes. I just can't figure it out…

I however don't think Chris should lay low…I find it refreshing to see him out and about (as a 20 year old enjoying life)…I can understand how the media orgasms' everytime he moves…Before this incident, Chris was the one celebrity that was humble, courteous, and like now…If they print something about him…it turns to gold…He still has that appeal today…

  • Abby luvs CB

    Let them know!

  • ShaninLuvsCB

Personally, i dont believe they should a have asked chris that question . i am a chris fan 100% but, him just sayinq no he dosen;t remeber just makes people think he's a lier, and ect .Because there's people out there already that dont like him because of the assault on Rihanna. But i believe he should have put that point out that Rihanna wouldnt think its fair to tell or ect . And im just wonder why the hell is Rihanna layinq so low back, like nothin even happend. She's not even sayinq anything. Chris is the one looking bad here !!! she needs to really…get a grip . No offence in any way .im sorry.
