Oprah Winfrey is the latest celebrity weighing in on Rihanna and Chris Brown’s domestic drama. And she’s taking action, too.

“Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself,’ ” Winfrey said during a live, roundtable discussion Friday on her talk show. “‘Heal yourself first.”

She additionally strongly advised, “And also, love doesn’t hurt. I’ve been saying this to women for years: ‘If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.’ “

Moved by the allegations of abuse, and the fact that Rihanna is still dating Brown, Winfrey says she plans to dedicate an upcoming episode of her show to the topic of domestic violence.

“It makes me so sad that I said to the producers, ‘I want to do a show about it this week dedicated to all the Rihanna’s of the world,’ ” Winfrey said, citing a statistic that one out of four women in the country are battered.

Sitting at the table with Winfrey, Gayle King echoed her friend’s sentiments while she also weighed in about the pop stars’ relationship.

“My thing about this is, if you guys want to get back together, I’m okay with that, but at least take some time,” she said. “I’m so worried that she’s sending the wrong message to the fans. And [to] him, too.”

    I think oprah was rite about them givin each other space. But I think she’s wrong for sayin chris will do it again. How she knno he will??? Nobody knows if he will. She’s being judgemental and taking one side…… not cool.

    I saw the show and they should take a time out and lay low. I don’t think its up to them to teach people. Parents should talk to their kids about this situation. I did talk to my nine year old ,nieces 12 & 11 and nephew 8 (he think he is Chris Brown does dance moves from yo and take u down). The story is every where and I never seen anything like this. Celebrities aren’t teachers that for a parents and life situation. I am glad u post this one. teachable moment comment from Oprah. The other lady saying he’s a role model. That not their job because rihanna and chris are still learning. Even I can be too silly about Ri and CB situation, but because I was here only difference it was note. (looking back I am like what was I doing but I was 19 and he 20). Hell I am an adult I am still learning!

    Oprah didn't particularly said that Chis will hit a woman again. She juz saying in a general way because that mostly what happens when a guy hit a woman…. it's a conscience thing. I mean that should be his biggest concern is not letting it happen again. What if he snaps again and things like that. He already done it and now his main priority is to keep his image alive and positive which mean WE as FANS should STILL continue SUPPORTING him. On other thought, Oprah is right (like I said before) Rihanna (and Chris too ) are sending wrong messages if they are back together TOO SOON. If the rumors are right, i think it's juz too soon.

    statistics and studies have said that once a man lays a hand on a woman, that they WILL 9 out of 10 hit them again…its been proven. and she is sooo right, plus someone needs to let everyone who has been hit by there man that IT IS A BIG DEAL,and standing up against it, is the right thing to do. rihanna could have been a GREAT role model for women who have gone through this, and stood up against it, but instead she gave in and made it look like its ok when its not at all, she fucked up..so someone must be that role model…i guess its OPRAH,lmaoo go head!!

    I also think they should take some time apart..Rihanna made the wrong decision by immediately goin back with him in my opinion because she knew the world was watching…she defintely sent the wrong message to her fans…but hey i guess she has her own personal reason for goin back…maybe we'll know someday..*shrugs*

    i agree with Oprah and applaud her for comming out and saying it because all other celebrities are too afraid. They are either saying they don't have an opinion or taking it back when it gets out. Rihanna has shown that she is weak by going back with Chris so soon. If she said he's beat her before then why is she with him? They are young but mature enough to make the right decisions.

    I couldn't agree more with Oprah and Gale King, Well Said! But, I think the reason why Rihanna took Chris Brown back so quick is because she's probably afraid that he'll cheat on her. And I'm sure Rihanna doesn't want to give it some time and take a break from Chris, because she's (mostly likely) afraid that he won't stay faithful to her during they're break away from eachother (He's a boy). And ofcourse, Rihanna is one of those jealous, insecure types. I mean, It's quite obvious.

    Again, more people judging. Gail only have Rihanna side of the story. They should have waited to hear both parties and than voice their opinions, they are so ready to tear Chris down. And if Rihanna loveeeeee Chris so much why won't you stand up for your man. She didn't tell the police anything she did but just saw a text message and hide his keys, (which at first she stated she threw them out the window). Just tell the truth, Hey I started, I was jealous and hurt after reading the text message and I went up side his head and we both fought, their was no one person doing all the hitting. The Truth will set you free! And adults are not always right. I think they handle this conversation the wrong way.
