Singer CHRIS BROWN can repair the damage caused to his career by his fight with ex-girlfriend RIHANNA, just like basketball star KOBE BRYANT bounced back after his 2003 sexual assault scandal, according to marketing mogul STEVE STOUTE.

The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is facing almost five years in jail in relation to an 8 February (09) incident which reportedly left Rihanna battered and bruised.

Brown’s career has taken a knock since the headline-grabbing altercation, with bosses at gum firm Wrigleys and America’s National Dairy Council pulling promotional campaigns featuring the star, while executives at several radio stations have removed his songs from their playlists after receiving complaints from listeners.
But entertainment marketing titan Stoute, who was instrumental in landing Brown the Wrigley’s deal, insists he can salvage his tattered career and be just as successful as Bryant.

The Los Angeles Lakers star hit the headlines in 2003 when a Colorado hotel employee accused him of sexually assaulting her. Bryant maintained his innocence and the charges were later dropped after his accuser refused to testify in court.

Bryant has since overcome the allegations and regained his star status – and Stout is adamant Brown can do the same, as long as he can win back public support.

He tells MSNBC, “We’ve seen brands move past this before, and we’ve seen celebrities move past this. We’ve seen Kobe Bryant go through what he went through, and all of a sudden he’s back in graces with Nike, he has Vitamin Water deals and he’s the MVP of the league… So it’s all public opinion. Public opinion ultimately does control how these things work out.”

Brown is due to be arraigned on 6 April (09) on felony counts of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.

    1. Kobe's alleged victim was not famous like Rihanna.

    2. The fact that TMZ posted the pics of Rihanna on the internet (whether they are real or photoshopped) has outraged the public and media.

    3. Rihanna's statement is so graphic and paints Chris as a monster that people will find it hard to forgive him.

    My friends cousin works in PR and I was asking her last night what she thinks.

    She said he needs to:

    a) take a step back from the entertainment industry and campaign for an end to domestic violence

    b) donate some serious money

    c) go on a tour of colleges and schools and talk to teenagers about DV

    d) he needs to go to do a barbara walters special with or without Rihanna and cry real tears.

    d) He needs to write and release a really heartfelt sad song with a strong message.

    e) And he needs to show people the sweet cute Chris that people first fell in love with. No photos of him looking thuggish, just photos of him looking sweet, like a boy becoming a gentleman with a huge real smile.

    f) He needs to stay single for a while or continue his relationship with Rihanna, but a new woman will look wrong for his image.

    Then he will regain his career back but it will be very different. He will have to do a whole album of deep heartfelt songs and no dancing for a while, it will look unnatural.

    Well…in my opinion I have a lot of faith in Chris being able to bounce back..and no matter if Kobe's victim was famous or not..his name was also dragged thru the mud. He didnt have as much people supporting him still after the event like Chris does. I was even pissed at him for a minute..like I was with Chris…but Kobe showed people why he is in the game in the first place..and people forgive..they may not forget but they do forgive..and Chris is going thru the same thang..and he can either let all this get to him..or pull a Kobe and show people why he was in the game in the first place.     I was watching cnn once and the guy was like he was suprised because in the situation with mike vick everyone was against him, but in this incident there are still people defending chris so he has a good chance of coming back because half of the public stills supports him. Basically that was all the uproar was all about. You go anywhere and still see his same old fans supporting him.     Hopefully, with the continuous love & support from his family, friends & fans, he'll deal with this situation & come out on top. The media just don't know who they messing with, lol… :)

He was the teams "baby boy" for a long time and because of his age, wasn't allowed to hang out with them & get into things that ay have hurt his character.

    I understand you are all dedicated fans, so am i. I was on 'Twittermoms' the group that was trying to pull him off the kids choice awards trying to get them to see reason and leave his name there, i've written and emailed every news station, every talk show host from Oprah to Ellen to ask them to cool down on the negative reporting and let the boy have his day in court, so I love CB forever BUT some of you are not looking at this from a business and brand image point of view.

    Chris is a brand (as Michael said above) and this incident is going to follow him all through his career, there will be certain shows that will not want him on there e.g. Regis and Kelly or Ellen or The Today show or Tyra banks.

    As CICI said Chris is a pretty boy and teenage heartthrob, like the black version of Zac Efron or Jesse McCartney, but he has more edge than them. Moms loved him and loved their tween and teenage daughters idolising him.
    He was the kind of boy that moms and dads would love their teenage daughter to bring home.

    I know how you feel and I agree with you to a certain degree. His image is defintely tarnished but I don't think that it's ruined and I do think that he can get it back. I think this because when people let their emotions die and really look at that picture, it is obvious that Rihanna was just telling lies and I really believe that deep down people know it. Despite the fact that there are supposedly more graphic pictures, what we saw is what her injures were and that is nothing like what her affadavit says. There is no way in the world that he repeatedly punched her and she not have one single broken bone in her face. Regardless of what people try to say her face wasn't even swollen. And her taking those keys out and sitting on them was really stupid on her part!!That alone shows combat and lets people know that there's much more to this story. So don't worry-he'll be back.

    I don't necessarily think that is true. The reason I say that is because still no one knows what exactly happened, and the picture does not show a woman who was severely beaten. I think that he will be remembered for whatever we find out on the 6th. The good thing about it is that she will be remembered for whatever we find out on the 6th also. I still don't think that people are realizing that if she was attacking him while he was driving he had to do something. He could have pushed her or hit her once with force without even realizing it, just reacting to try to keep them both safe while he's trying to drive the car. People will realize that her only real injury is her lip and those 2 knots on both sides of her head. Depending on how she got those will determine how he's remembered but she obviously wasn't punched repeatedly so that's a good thing.

    I respect your opinions and you have great points but you call yourself one of chris’ biggest fans.my things and everyone will agree with me ok this but his biggest fans are those who are dedicated and are loya land they help him and they give words of advice and when he is down they ate there to lift him up.but most of all his biggest fans are those never ever ever ever give up on him and lose faith.

      I'm just trying to be realistic.

      I think alot of his fans are not prepared for what might happen on April 6th and after, no one can question my loyalty to Chris. I could have done a better job than his useless PR team.

      As I said before I have been writing to all the talk shows, news stations to cool their negative shit.

      I also tried to get 'twittermoms' to stop trying to get him off The Nick awards.

      BUT i know (as i work in the entertainment industry) that it is going to be one long and hard struggle for him and people are going to shun him. He needs to go on talk shows, perform at awards ceremonies etc…. but people might not want him on again.

      This is nothing like Kobe's case. No young teenage heartthrob has been accused of beating up his famous girlfriend. DUI, cool. Cheating on her, cool. BUT NOT THIS.

      Sorry but I am being real. His fans need to be prepared to campaign, write on his behalf and speak up for him cause its going to be hard.

      Again Congrats Chris on Disturbia going Triple Platinum. !!
