Chris Brown’s Film Career In Jeaopardy?

Chris Brown x Bone Deep. All the blogs and news sources have been covering the fact that Chris is losing endorsement deals left and right, but now his check book is about to hurt even more as his once rising film career is now in serious trouble as well. Rumor has it that Sony Screen Gems, the studio that is releasing Chris’ next movie Bone Deep, is going to basically “erase” Chris from their marketing campaign.

The crime/action thriller which comes out Jan 8, 2010 was originally going to heavily market stars T.I. and Chris Brown to the urban demo but now T.I. will ironically be the main attraction (even though he’s going to jail) along with broader reaching actors Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen. Unofficial word has it that Chris will be “erased” from marketing material such as the movie poster, trailer and TV ads to avoid any controversy. The movie has already finished filming in Los Angeles so Chris will still be in the movie but just don’t expect to see much of him in the advertising.

Yeti says: This is bad news for Chris’ acting career. Being shunned from the music industry is one thing but Chris had a rising film career with his “boy next door” persona going on for him. If the rumors are true then he will lose millions in movie contracts from this fallout. The fact that he will be “erased” from this movie is just the first sign that Hollywood studios will be avoiding him like the plague as well. Chris’ agents and managers are hoping big time (and expensive) Hollywood PR man Alex Nierob can help save his career though…or what’s left of it.

Just to clear this up: people they aren’t removing him from the movie, just the advertissement (almost as bad, really). But there’s no need to boycott the film. It doesn’t come out until next year anyways, by then Chris’ name will have either been cleared or this will have died down, and nobody will give a damn anymore. Come on do you people honestly expect to the general public and musicians alike NOT to react the way they are. When someone of his status does something like this DO NOT expect the general public to be all "Poor chris. He needs help". He did something wrong by hitting a female. If any of you honestly think its right for him to do what he did you need help. Secondly he needs all the punishment he is getting because if people rally behind him and go its ok Chris just don't do it again he will most likely do it again. He needs to learn a hard lesson and he is right now. His career is severely damaged and from the looks of it he might not be able to recover. While will still have a dedicated rabid fan base he won't be able to come back from this. Just look at Michael Jackson. He still has a core fan base but his career is relatively finished. Chris deserves whatever punishment comes his way. Even if Rihanna pushed Chris or slapped him once he could have easily grabbed her and held her until she calmed down. I would agree with this comment, but considering the acts of this country, I disagree.

IF Chris Brown was Justin Timberlake than YES, people will be going boo hoo, he needs help. Chris is black and played (allegedly) into the angry black violent man prototype.

I don't agree with Chris actions if what he did is factual. But I'm not going to paint him as monster and throw him in jail. The best way for society to help someone with clearly, emotional/mental problems that cause physical altercations is through therapy. I have yet to see anyone suggest that instead of jail in this case, truly believe that if Chris Brown was Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, on any All American (white) boy jail would be used as the last resort… they would argue his past actions don't match his allegedly behavior and would want the best help/decision in whatever happened. (Like Chris Brown's fans have been doing since day 1 and being called everything but Jesus Christ.)

So, in essence, paying for his actions would be admissible considering if he had a public history of this. But from what we allegedly know as truth, he doesn't… so before society creates an outcast we need to do the responsible thing for the young man and seek help.

Why is it that no one really wants to hear what happened. They just want to condemn Chris and not know any part that Rhianna played in it. People really don't care what happened in that car, they really don't. Because no one is listening that this is a 2 sided story. But, why don't you condemn the people making the same baseless claims about Rihanna as some are about Chris, that SHE'S guilty? There's nothing wrong with supporting Chris, but in their attempt to support Chris, they in turn condemn Rihanna purposefully so that they can look like they have a more valid reason to support him. I feel bad for Chris I really do. HE WAS DEAD WRONG for what he did but it's sad how everyone is turning their back on him. it just goes to show how quick people will swich on you. people love you when you are perfect, but as soon as you show that you are human and make mistakes, they turn on you. It's sad. Chris is getting death threats, a boxer is challenging him to a fight, all types of craziness and its sad. Rihanna's album sales have gone up because of this.
