Half-hour show will take a look at the events and ramifications surrounding alleged altercation between the two singers.

With “Chris Brown & Rihanna: Love in Trouble,” MTV News will take an in-depth look at the allegations of domestic violence that Chris Brown faces after an alleged altercation with Rihanna last weekend. For the special, which airs Monday, February 16, at 6 p.m. ET/PT, MTV News has gathered journalists, industry professionals and other experts — as well as an in-studio audience of young fans — to provide insight and commentary about what the incident means for both artists’ careers and lives, and society in general.

The special will take a look at the couple’s year-long relationship and will also examine the influence the alleged domestic violence between Brown’s former stepfather and mother may have had on him.

“Chris Brown & Rihanna: Love in Trouble” will also look at the events that took place on the night the alleged altercation occurred. Plus, it will look at how this incident has touched on issues that face young people in relationships every day and what can be done to avoid them. A relationship expert will be on hand to offer advice for young people who find themselves facing domestic violence issues.

“Chris Brown & Rihanna: Love in Trouble” airs Monday, February 16, at 6 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

If you look at this whole situation – this CHILD is crying for help – not BACKLASH!!! WE all have done something and the next second – hour – day – month or year – said WHAT DID I DO!!! If you haven't then don't say NEVER – because NO one know the outcome of THE next second – minute – hour – day – month – nor year!!! Just be blessed that it has not happen YET!!!     Thinking of this bring me to Tyler Perry movie Dairy of a MAD BLACK WOMAN – because I was one of those people who could not let GO of the pain – the part that GOT me to forgive was when Cicely Tyson said in her part of the movie – you have to forgive him – NOT FOR HIM – but FOR YOU – because if you don't – you giving your POWER away!!! And from that day – I was able to start forgiving those who had hurt me – let go the resentment and was able to get MY POWER back. I am not saying this is for everyone but it helped ME!!!

    You see what WE tend to forget is THINGS ARE IN GOD DIVINE ORDER and not man!!! WHATEVER GOD have ORDERED to be in these young people lives WILL BE – NO MATTER WHAT !!! I just believe GOD can fix anything if given the chance.

    AGAIN – as we pull out the sticks – the stones – the paddles – the beat downs – REMEMBER this is a CHILD crying out for HELP!!! SO GUIDANCE from a REAL man is needed to show him the WAY – helping him to empty out HIS SOUL OF INSIDE PAIN. SOMEONE HELP this YOUNG BROTHER with some LOVE – SOMEONE HELP the young sister with some LOVE.

      Chris is being charged on the basis of criminal felony THREATS.

      No other charges have been added yet. So, why do you see the need for Rihanna to heal when you and I, and the rest of the public don't KNOW if Chris actually physically abused Rihanna in the way that gossip sites and tabloids are reporting?

      I do think they are just trying to boost ratings. Ithey wanted to do that, they should just play more music videos and less reality shows.

      I feel so sorry for Chis because he was portrayed to be such an innocent and squeaky clean guy, when like all of us he isn't. And now because he has done something wrong, he's going to fall harder than most becase of all the expectations people had of him. I partly blame his PR for trying to maintain that super innocent boy image.

When was he ever BAD or seen as a thug, monster, douche, etc. It was always his nature for him to have a goofy, get a long with everybody, chill dude.. He was never really one to flash his materials to the world, his jewlry, shoes, he was just always being him and doing normal everyday things. Why else could we have so many pictures of him out and about. Being an A list celeb his entire career, he’s actually managed to stay somewhat level headed, and just a normal VA dude. His spirit was always calm and collective and that’s something I commend him for.     Chris's dad is right. Chris shouldn't be demonized instantaneously, especially on the basis of rumors. That's what a lot of us have been saying.

    I can't help but to wonder why Jive still haven't released the official statement.

    I'm sure Chris's family are feeling the need to take matters into their own hands now and do some damage control of their own, and that's why all these statements from family members are surfacing.

    I wish Chris would speak out and say something…. (wishful thinking).

        just to be fair, none of us knows if rihanna actually feels remorse for the situation either. The media reports only what will get them ratings and what will interest people. If they say "Rihanna feels bad for such and such" or "Rihanna feels remorse", it'll put Rihanna in a similar position to Chris (which is what they DONT want. they want Chris to be in the demonizing position) and even more, it'll probably calm the anger that everyone has over the whole situation because both of them feel sorry for each other. It'll lose ratings for the media if people are not constantly interested in it. So they are taking advantage of the fact that neither one of them has made an official statement yet.

        I hate to play devil's advocate here but whether people hate Rihanna or hate Chris, we have to be fair to both of them. Just because we haven't heard about something doesn't mean it didn't occur. And vice versa of course.

    This situation would not have been public, if Rih never made the call. IT was personal, before Rih decided to call the cops, she probaly had enough. No one else was there, but them. It must have been bad if she felt she had to call the police and also because she just knew doing so would destroy his celebrity.

    I want pictures of her. She probaly wouldn’t have let them take pictures if she knew the truth would be out, so she really wanted to display those injuries. Those photos will leak.
