Los Angeles: The unauthorized release of a domestic violence photograph immediately
generated an internal investigation.

At about 7 p.m. on February 19, 2009, the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section began receiving numerous inquiries about the release of a photograph associated with a domestic violence incident that occurred on February 8, 2009, involving entertainer Chris Brown. The photograph appeared on an entertainment website. The photograph has the appearance of one taken during an official Domestic Violence investigation.

The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence.

The Department launched an immediate internal investigation and subsequently filed a personnel complaint.

A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.

Anyone with information concerning the unauthorized release of the photograph is asked to call, during regular business hours, (213) 485-4152. After-hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to our 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247). Callers may also text “CRIMES” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on Web Tips. When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.” Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Regardless of how heartfelt ppl want his apology to be…he can't say too much without the police's notification..he can't admit or deny anything as of now..because anything he says can and will be used against him the court of law..i understand why he didn't say much…and no matter what I, Joniesha declare not to ever drop Chris Brown…i am a die hard fan thru the good and the bad..i don't support what he did..but i do understand that when ppl piss u off to an extent some of us blackout and can't control our actions..and don't even know what we did..until we "wake up"….i've been watching and supporting chris since day one…and i just feel it in my heart that something triggered him to this point..something is not being said something is not connecting in this case. I personally think it's asking way too much at this point in time to ask CB fans whether they support him or not. We do not know any details of the situation, so we cannot say if we support him right now at all. From what we have seen, it looks pretty bad, really bad in fact. We are not stupid and I wish that he and his 'people' make that fact known. They have started a iSupport Chris thing on his fan club page, but that is asking too much.

We cannot say we support him, nor can we make excuses for him – simply because we do not know what happened and also we may never know what happened. I believe it is in our rights to know what happened because we should be able to chose what products we want to invest our money in.

He seems like a great person, one that many could see as a great friend to have with a great sense of humour, and I am not naive to think he isn't perfect, because hello nobody is perfect at all.

His statement was a shamble I must agree with many on that, even Rihanna's statement was more insightful in terms of they addressed the fact Chris was involved and they thanked the fans. I guess Chris has more people on his side, he has the big guns as they're saying, wheras she does not have all this crisis management hoopla.

As of now, I am still a fan of his music, because I listen to the Exclusive album almost everyday. However, I stay open minded on this issue and in time we'll see if he is worthy of our support.

totally agreeing with you. the most we could do now acutally is wait. personally, i am a bit disappointed at what happened and the way that people react to it. i mean come on. give it a break. stop judging unless you know everything that went on and every reason enveloping the whole incident. he is just human who makes mistakes…okay, so this is an extreme example of a fault..but still. Being a celeb doesn’t exempt him from all this. And being a celeb doesn’t mean we should give the incident special attention and such. As a person, we should keep in mind that anyone is capable of change, nobody’s perfect and every human being needs a guide no matter the age . Everything just needs time to work itself out. As of the moment I still support his music, yes. I still listen to his songs and I won’t discriminate them for the mere reason that he’s done something. I still hope that things will heal in time and people would still give him a chance, it’s a waste, really, it is.

chris brown has apologized, but that's not good enough. I guess some folk won't be satisfied unless Chris Brown commits suicide. As weird as this may sound. Hate it or love it. I honestly don't think we will know the truth of either side even if the case is resolved. We have no idea what the argument was about inside the car they were in that night. Chris Brown might've done wrong, but that's only if he did do something against the law. Then again, perhaps there's still a chance Rihanna fueded the argument and made him do what he did. Although, like I said…what he did was wrong. There's no reason for anyone to choke a female. Im so freaking sick of everybody accusing Chris Brown of being an abuser. She must have done something to him for him to react that way. okay, some people in this site have been condemning chris brown. which is immature in a sense. the thing is, i may sound reeeaaaly cliche saying this, but he's flawed, because he is human like the rest of us and that can't change just because he's a celebrity. actually haters have a point. and that is to let cb face the consequences for his actions, and i agree to that. but that doesn't mean you should fully drop the support. that wouldn't help at all. he needs the support from the people and if all some of you would do is talk shit about him being a bastard and so and so, it would probably bring him down even more. everyone can change, i belive in that, but only if you help them to. shunning their music and them personally because of this is discrimination. how would you feel if that happened to you or someone close to you?____

as for us, the fans, some of us should just accept that this happened but we should continue the support. this does not mean that we condone what he did, it just means that we believe that he can change for the better. right? ____on opinions, yes they are a person's right and everyone should be heard but if there's something you need to say, say it properly so that no one gets offended. using profanities to the extent of directing it to someone is verbal abuse, and abuse nonetheless. you should respect the opinions of others and the person as well. that's part of human rights.
